5KB...are you serious???? that's slower than dialup.....how's that possible.
that is a normal rate for me, sometimes less than 2kb/sec, sometimes higher like 10kb/sec....
once it hit 130kb/sec, and i was so happy, that is such a rare thing, to have it hit above 30, stay like that throughout.
most finish, some get stuck around 99% and take awhile to finish, damn seeders....lol
think it is my firewall that is slowing it, but if i take that damn thing down, it will leave it vulnerable to virus

dude you don't have to disable your firewall..i don't know what bt client your using but you need to open a port to allow data to pass more quickly...
i use azureus and forwarded the appropriate port without needing to disable my firewall...you need to remedy to that because your getting speeds that are FAR FAR too SLOW...you're basically wasting your money on broadband if you downloading those large files is a primary goal of yours.

I use ABC bittorent client, it works well for me, except the slow d/l rates....i don't know how to adjust the ports and all that...
i spoke to Doch about it when i met up with him for lunch, think he said that i can lower my firewall just for BT alone, but not sure if i want to lower it, otherwise i might get all these computer virus'...
but would like to know how i can open the port(safely) and speed up the torrent rates...
in aya info, i am d/l'ing her ace wo narae drama, the d/l rates are decent(above 10 kb/sec for one of them)....they only have ep's 1,2,3 off JTV, all the rest off D-addicts??

dochira is absolutely right.
bro, i've never ever gotten a virus and i have port forwarding enabled on my computer and i download loads of ish from bitTorrent trackers....having said that i also have anti-virus software installed....dood you are seriously crippling yourself over an exaggerated sense of paranoia.....i'm not saying this to be mean...but if you think 10KB is decent .....you could get faster downloads on dial-up~! in essence you are spending WAY WAY WAY longer to download something when you have the capability at hand to achieve much greater speeds than you are experiencing..
10KB is way too slow...for broadband......
OSOI SUGERU....
btw, the fourth episode of ACE is available at J-TV

yeah, you're right, less than 10kb/sec is a joke, i should find ways to get higher...i actually do re-queue a lot, when my rates are stagnant or need a little boost, sometimes it doesnt work much, but i to change ports manually. ABC allows you to with the requeue button. I have Norton anti-virus up....
probably will ask Dochira sometime to help me out on this one, i am lousy with computer stuff, i am amazed i got this far with BT and posting pix....
thanks for the info on JTV Ace wo narae ep4.

no worries...hope you manage to work it out somehow...trust me you will be most pleased without sacrificing much in terms of security. i know how long these huge files take to download and since you have broadband you might as well take advantage of it!

@qilver: Wow man, you have clearly a problem with you firewall/bt client settings. This is probably not the thread to discuss this problem, so I'll just say that I'm connected to district LAN network and I'm using Sygate Personal Firewall and when Azureus started for the first time, I was asked by the firewall to allow or deny access to the network. I allowed access and from that point on I haven't got any problems caused by firewall nor with viruses/worms... Anyway you better ask somewhere in General Discussions or even better if someone comes on place to see what the problem is.
