Hey thewizzard, here's the link for what you're looking for. All the subs are zipped into a single file:

Hmm, confusing use of that kanji. It can be read as both 'okaasan' and 'obasan' - ꂳ

So maybe not her mother then, just an 'auntie'? I think we need someone to translate the whole article lol

Haha yea.

I think Roppongi might be able to read most of that article. We'll see. Hopefully someone will translate some of it Fingers crossed

Hey, that's a new one! Something you scanned or found online?

I'm not positive, but I see the Japanese for 'mother' in the bottom caption, so maybe that's Mrs. Ueto?

I agree with Phinn... I can also read the kanji for okasan in the two sentences. I checked with the kaji dictionary, and I'm pretty sure that's okasan. Plus, from what little I know of Nihongo and Kanji... there's another kanji placed before 'haha' to make it obasan. I may be mistaken though. Sweat

BTW, Thanks Phinn! w00t!

Hey guys, I just research on how okasan is written, and it could be written like this: (I hope everyone has the Japanese language pack installed. Sweat) ꂳ
or it could also be written like this to be more honorific: ꂳ

Obasan on the other hand can be written like these:

fꂳ or ꂳ or ꂳ

There are also other ways of writing it, but these three are the ones which refer to obasan (aunt) and not obasan (old lady) Sweat I just hope I'm right in assuming this.

Yeah it's the kanji for mother, therefore making the woman with Aya her mom!

Does anyone know who the woman in the last pic is? Any relative af Aya perhaps?
Maybe someone could tranmslate the text...

Heres what I got:

1. This is a picture at age 7. A friend asked her to wear a kimono in a childrens fashion show. In a newspaper somewhere a big article was printed, looking at this was a big inspiration.

2. This is a ballet recital at age 10. Although Aya was becoming more like the hiroshima zatsugi dance group in how her body moved gently on stage, she has moved past that stage. She still wants to do ballet.

3. Every year, Aya travelled to Karuizawa with her family. This is a picture at age 11. Since her mother is from okinawa you can clearly see it in her expession. Her mom really loves her, even now they have a great relationship.

It's her mother Mr Green

Yes, maybe downloading the files again might help. All episodes and subs worked for me. I had to rename one or two, though.

I scanned it from a article that was with some clippings. If thatLs her mother, which seems more likely that a aunt, thatLd be the first pic I saw from her family-members Mr Green

Ahhh, good to be back online. So what do I have missed - a Japanese language lesson. I think this article is too advanced for me, so I'll skip directly on translation hehe. Thanks Roppongi w00t!
