I just saw this news item at yahoo about a cellphone service that stores your profile and lets you know if someone close to you has a matching profile:
It just reminded me of the anime: "Platonic Chain", that used the very same idea. I wonder if Japan already has this techonology? (They are always first anyway

Cool. Life imitates Anime.
It's been available in Japan more than 3 years ago. That concept was one important topic for insiders of the wireless industry back then. These trends in US are SLOW.

Quite scary for me. I just don't want any stranger to know my information. It sounds a bit odd. Besides that there's a change of bumping into some psycho man or butt ugly stalker...kowaiiii
I recommend "Platonic Chain", it's a weird little anime (each episode is maybe 5 minutes) that explores what some future trends might be. From the anime, it says:

in defense to that, i don't know if i'm for it or not, but there are people out there that aren't out spoken like some of us, aho, and are WAY shy. On a plus is that this industry also pumps money into what ever country it is in.
