I'm curious, anyone seen any biographical information about Joe? From what I understand, he grew up in the LA area and attended one of the Cal State colleges. After graduation, he found his way to Japan.
One wonders what led him to leave the USA for Asia? Similarly, Coco Lee did the same from a Taiwanese and Northern California perspective, though she only recently made her film debut.
My cousin also went to Tokyo after graduation, and he's from LA too. Though not so tall as Joe, he's more of an average nihonjin height.
As an Asian, it's a lot more difficult to crack into mainstream acting and achieve success in the USA, as Jackie Chan and others have stated in interviews. Perhaps that was one of Joe's reasons for moving to Japan?

thats a good question btw, but where did you get that info? i thought he was raised in japan and went to college here..
i think he made a good choice going back to japan, competition here in the US is really hard and too much pressure.. same with me, i was going to be in a music business but i decided not to _________________

Utada Hikaru's heavily promoted debut here in the USA flopped too. Hard to crack the American music scene. Unless you're Jessica Simpson's sister.
I should rephrase that to "I have heard" with respect to Joe, as I do not know for certain that he was raised in Japan or where he was born. Just looked at his official website, it does list that his hometown is in Japan, but that doesn't mean he was actually born there. Not a lot of info on that website, very sparse. One of you talented ladies should offer to spruce it up for him!

Honestly, you girls nearly forgot Joe's birthday!?!

speaking of hikki, im so disappointed.. i mean i love electronic but seems that not many asians are into that, though her song devil inside was in the high charts in clubs, but still not good enough to reach in the top billboard.. maybe she should go back to her own roots.
oh wait, so joe really went to cal state college in fresno not in la? _________________

Aka', as an FYI to non-Californians, the UC schools are different from the Cal State schools. Fresno is a Cal State school.
The UC schools have tougher admission standards than the Cal State schools. However, there are some Cal State schools that are as good as the top UC schools in some departments, such as the two Cal Poly's.

Mixx, thanks for the link! Downloading it now.
As for being a lurker...i was one too. So can't blame anyone for lurking. Took me about a year before i was comfy enough to start posting, and once i did, there was no holding back! So to all lurkers...it's fun to post about the artiste you like. It's more enjoyable learning more about them and be able to share your 'resources'.
