TOKIO compose songs cuz they love to. The ones who compose most are Leader and Nagase. They started compose their own song after 3 years since their debut. They even have an album containing songs each of everyone of them compose.
Even so, Ashita Wo Mezashite is the first single released with a song composed by a member of TOKIO itself which is Tomoya Nagase. They are quite proud of it since the sells were quite high.
and their new single was released today..~Get Your Dream~

Yep. ^^

At last they're not doing some shallow boys band dance while they are singing. =)

Thank you for the information. I'll look for their new single.

dancing while singing is shallow? i don't really understand what you mean...most of the johnnys work very hard at the dancing (some of them not as hard as they SHOULD on the singing)

i find nothing wrong with singers dancing during their songs. i rather enjoy it. watching someone standing still and singing for 2 hours isn't so invigorating as watching a performance enhanced by dancing and such. if a band is just gonna stand there and not do much of anything on stage, there is really no difference for me between that and just sitting on my couch listening to a cd.

but they do some dancing during their concerts...not as much as some of the other johnnys because the others aren't attached to instruments. but Nagase fully makes up for it by running around and bouncing up and down like a rabbit with ADD.

No, you didn't get my point. ^^;;

I wasn't talking about the Johnny's particularly... But when I enjoy a song, it's saddening to see a group dancing in a ridiculous way, so that's why I enjoyed TOKIO playing instruments instead.

Don't get me wrong, I like nice dancing too.

hoho TOKIO used to be the backdancers of SMAP and they were 6 back then. But Nagase wasnt an official member of TOKIO until the debut. Before the debut, they were 6 when it comes to performance and 5 when when photoshooting and Nagase would have single photoshot himself.

In last Shounen Club Premium recently where Nagase as guest, he said that he even recieved a hate mail by someone coz he was chosen as the main vocalist of TOKIO and Yamaguchi was the one who told him everything is going to be alrite. TOKIO didnt start very well..their single didnt sell much and they had a lot of discussion with Mr Kitagawa wether to disband or not. But Leader played a very big role there, saving the band by involving all of them with A LOT of varitey tv. Leader loves the band so much to life that the last thing he wanted to see is the the disband of TOKIO. he doesnt want to face that. TOKIO faced many things in their carrier and they grew stronger...

ah, sorry for the long talk. please bear wif me hahaha... Sweat
lastly, i love TOKIO.. Yeah

Luthiel, im not sure i fully understand your point yet. but i will agree with you. i like nice dancing too...i've seen some clips of some bands where they constantly pump their groins into the air....to me, that isn't dancing...thats just...silly looking.

aizawa, really? i knew they were backup dancers (i've seen a bunch of the old smap clips with them) but i didn't know there used to be six of them...must be like smap where there used to be 12 or 15 of them...johnnys is so crazy with their people swapping (like that one kid who was in kanjani8 and news at the same time.)

the smap with 12-15 members that you mentioned was not SMAP afterall...they wre Skaterboys and all of SMAP and some of TOKIO members were in it. Then, they divided the group into two smaller groups and thats whats known as SMAP and TOKIO. Taichi-kun was initially the member of SMAP. i dont know the rest of the story after that.

SMAP, as you know debuted early and they were really success back then, even until now. As for TOKIO, Leader suggested to Mr Kitagawa that they form as band rather like SMAP, which is kind of quite impossible to do at first. Leader dragged Yamaguchi into the team and they performed as back band as well as back dancers.
oh yeah..the name of the sixth member of TOKIO is Kohjima and his position was guitar. Two guitarists in TOKIO, one bass, one drummer, keyboarder and tambourine that is Nagase (i cant imagine Nagase this day shaking tambourine Shameful Cry ) Everyone sang at that time and no main vocalist.

its so neat to finally learn more about tokio...before i started watching jdramas, i really only knew of them as the group that sang the opening theme song from Kodomo no Omocha (which my friend would ALWAYS sing at karaoke...he frikkin loves that song) i was never much into jpop/jrock until i got into arashi. but the more i learn about arashi and johnnys, the more my interests seem to be branching out ^_^

a side note...my Susanoh butai book came today!! yay! one prob tho...its too huge for my scanner....so i will try to take some really nice pics of it...

still dunno what to do with the matsuoka clear file that came with it...

well, the auction i won had the butai book and a clearfile of matsuoka from the Act II concerts last year.

golly the costumes from Susanoh are so insanely cool looking......i had no idea that his hair was a wig...tho it sorta makes sense...it was just a shock to see him in the rehearsal pics with short blonde hair...and then the butai pics have long black hair sticking straight up ^_^ so funny!

yup..yahoo japan! its a rare auction that allows international shipment (you usually hafta ask the seller if they are willing to do it...and most of the time the answer is no) but there are lots of proxy services that will do the bidding for you and ship your item to you.

I used to use ok!shon (because of their automated bidding) but thier fees were steep and their service was horrible. i won't use Rinkya (their fees are the WORST), or Celga (they don't have automated bidding available to anyone except their "gold" accounts and you hafta bid with them for a long time before they allow you to purchase a gold account...its very annoying)
I have switched over to ShoppingMallJapan because they auto ship everything to their US warehouse (which means cheaper shipping to me!) and their fees are alot more reasonable than most places and they have automated bidding too.

with a proxy service, basically what you do is give them a deposit of a certain amount of money and you will be given credit of 4 or 5 times the amount of your deposit depending on the proxy service you use (example: if you give a deposit of 10 dollars, you can bid up to 5000 yen on an auction)
if you win the auction you bid on, you then pay for the auction and the shipping of your item to the warehouse and the proxy service comission fee (they don't take it out of the deposit tho...the deposit is their guarantee that you will complete the transactions) and once they get your item, they notify you how much it will cost to ship it to you, you pay that, and they ship it to you! its actually very easy and while its not so cheap, its worth it to get items that you normally wouldn't be able to get.

battlegirlai >> Actually, Uchi Hiroki & Nishikido Ryo are in both NewS & KanJani 8! I can't even imagine how tight their schedule must be (except for Hiroki because he's suspended).

aizawa^hase >> Thank you once again about TOKIO's background. Who's Leader exactly? ; )

By the way, that crazy curly hair of Tomoya Nagase had during Janizu Countdown Con 05-06... I LOVE it! How did he do by the way? Hehe, I'd like to imitate him... I love this hairstyle.

wow..a really2 long explaination about the auction!! i really have to take a note of it. Seriously, where else you can get original Johnnys stuffs other than yahoo! japan (but, i think its illegal to do that and its stated in J-web people who sell online their stuff, they will be taken an action)
but, since we are not Japanese and not living in Japan, its better than nothing. Fangirling is tiring........ Sweat
I'll try if i could do that battlegirlai....thanx!!

Luthiel no Edge, Leader is the leader of TOKIO (as the name stated) and his name is Joshima Shigeru. He plays guitar. As for Nagase's hair, he permed it since last September. His actual hair is super duper straight and he even had a cm promoting a hair gel.. hehe

Now, he had his hair straight again because of his new role as high school student. he has shaven cleanly and his sideburn is not too long anymore...he has to look young though..
