A good friend of mine is a graphics artist... One of his clients is a publisher, who produce glossy magazines, filled with Asian women who are looking for American men to marry. And most of them are very well educated, and also seem to make a great living already. I guess they have to be making money... It costs a few cows for an Asian women to get added to their database.

The publisher of the magazine says that these Asian women want to marry American men, mostly for that green card, but also because the men in their hometowns... well, how can I put this with political correctness, they're just not good enough, in one or more ways. You can interpret that however way you want! Twisted

As good as that sounds, my first (only?) choice would be Ryoko-san.

But I would like to check out that magazine and database. hehe

My first choice would, of course, be Sakai Noriko... But she's married already!!!! Sad Sigh....

BTW, is Ryoko married or seeing anyone????

This is very true...there is very few of us Japanese. There is even fewer full Japanese which suggests that Japanese intermix with other races quite a bit. I think it's good because we show that color of the skin is no barrier for us, and yet it's bad in a way that we're slowly dying out... Sad

It's not just the Japanese that needs to reproduce more... I was watching an episode of Real Time on HBO, and Bill Maher's "New Rules" segment were making fun of actual data that originally turned up in the New York Gazette...

"Jewish population dips"

CNN posted a similar article on this subject here:

In my country(the netherlands) we also have a problem wherein the population is going down.
somehow this is a good thing coz it's crowded here. The netherlands are if i remeber correctly the most densly populated western country in the world.

Never have i been to Japan but somehow this country attracts me. If i have saved enough money i'd like go on a long vacation there. From the looks of it the girls are very pretty.

my personal preference would be
Hirosue Ryoko
http://www.jdorama.com/artiste_233.htm

i really loved her in shotgun wedding

In Hawaii right now, there's a special being advertised on KIKU-TV where you can fly from Hawaii to Japan in the month of December, and stay there for 7 days, for $1995.00. Quite tempting, though I'd prefer to go during the Cherry Blossom Festival, instead of freezing my rear in the winter.

I've been trying to find time to travel to Japan for several years. I last went to Japan and stayed in Osaka back in 1986. At the time, the Japanese newspaper Daily Sports paid my way to compete in a bowling tournament, and shot my only 300-game ever there. However, being a dumb idiot teenager, I ended up eating at places like McDonald's instead of enjoying the foods that the Japanese culture offered. It also so happens to be the same year Sakai Noriko was discovered. Smile

As for me personally, I'm saving my money and will be staying in Maui on the week of New Years 2004 so I can watch the Mercedes Championships (I'm a Tiger Woods fanatic!!!!!)

Heck no!!! He's on another planet that I haven't heard of...

Speaking of golf... If anyone follows Japanese golf professional Maruyama Shigeki, he has a cuuuuuuuuuuuute wife!!!!! Her name is Mizuha. She could appear in a jdorama easily!!! I wish I had a photo of her. Sad I met her in person at the SONY Open in Hawaii earlier this year.

Actually this wasn't new, Japanese economy has been laggin since the burst of the "bubble economy". The unsure feeling has been in Japan for the past decade, not much shown from the outside but inside it's a explosive sensitive. Young ppl follow the trends and not have any children. Why give a birth since the times are unsure? Some ppl consider children as a burden, have to give up on their career and life style. Quite popular among the career-women and single couples. Women in the high position are very rare in a male dominated society of Japan. Sexual equality doesn't exist.

As for the Japanese government, they are way too old fashioned, WWII born politicians. They couldn't achieve anything, they only go to the parties on tax money and corporate expenses (read: corruption) and promising things they would never do on tv and make happy faces. Actually they have achieved "something", scandals! Hehe! The newspapers and tabloids know how to exaggerate the issues, even a worse image to the politics. No wonder the youth could care less about the politics in Japan! A serious reform and younger generation politicians are needed in order to restore a ppl's trust to the politicians and the economy.
Let's see how the Japanese government will handle the issues Rolling eyes
