Musashi here is different from the one depicted in the book.

Yes it is.

But the drama was still quite entertaining. Smile

Yes it is w00t!

But I was hoping to see Musashi life as a whole, maybe like how he trained himself in more details as you know the book does tell us about him learning by himself but still I don't get the picture as to how excatly how he did it. So I was hoping that the series would show episodes when he achieved every step of progress as a swordman. And plus how he trained his great penmanship as well as artistic sides (sculture and painting). I really admire him so I wanna know these things he he

There is a new book out on Musashi that I saw on Amazon.com that I thought was maybe worth buying:

I'll have to swing by a Borders and flip through it... Smile

I would've been happy if they had followed the book more closely.

I would've been happy too, but seeing the series like an total independent work we can enjoy both, I think. And because I don't know anything about the japanese history ( I learned only the James Clavell's ,,Shogun''), fotr me the historical parts were interestings too.

And now a gift for you, bmwracer ( I used photos that you posted in the Ryoko's thread)- I hope you'l like it :

I'm not sure if it's historical or not... I have to visit my local bookstore and check it out... Also, Amazon.com probably has some reviews of the book that might help: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/477002942X/ref=wl_it_dp/002-5823126-9999250?ie=UTF8&coliid=IP20YFGPV0GGY&colid=10ACCEBNHIOE9

Bow Yes, may be I should have posted it there, but don't forget that Ryoko is perfect to me only as ,,Otsu'' - I know her only as ,,Otsu'' - and Otsu,as personage of the TVseries MUSASHI, represented too on the wall, has his place here... Smile. If you agree ( it was a gift for you, you helped me a lot!!! Smile ...) I'll post it in the Ryoko thread too.

And now, Otsu -variations:

I stumbled upon Musashi as I was searching for a Taiga (hope I spelt correctly) show to watch. From my 'research', quite a no. name this as their favourite Taiga show to watch. However, when I checked www.yesasia.com and other places on the net, it seems that it's not sold anywhere.

Was it ever sold or is it going to be available in stores? Or if it's already available, could you direct me to the store's website?

I don't think I've ever seen NHK put up any of their Taigas for sale... You might try eBay: I remember seeing someone selling all 49 episodes (with subtitles) for a mere $35USD, I believe...

I just checked yesasia and they sell "Shinsengumi" and "Yoshitsune". It's weird. How come they put up those practically recent taiga dramas for sale but not Musashi? Is it because "Musashi" wasn't played by 'pretty boys'? Bonk Bonk Bonk

Possibly. hehe

Also, there were some legal issues involving the drama and some of its scenes resembling those from the classic film Seven Samurai, directed by Kurosawa Akira, which might have kept the drama from being sold. Sweat
