Even with the valve on, I'd still have to get down to open it. The oil drain is facing the rear of the car.

I figured that's what the valve was.... Yeah, you still have to get to the valve, which is at the bottom of the pan... I'd stick with the security of the threaded plug.

Gomen. I guess I'm a traditionalist.

I dunno. With the product having a Japanese name, I was expecting something wildly innovative.... Sweat

After much procrastination, it's about time I looked into some decent road service since mine expired and I'm commuting a lot more now. Any suggestions besides AAA or Allstate? I'm looking for the option to tow to a location of MY choice, not some "bla bla bla approved service provider" or dealership. I know that'll cost me more annually and AAA and Allstate offer that for around $100 per year, but I'm looking to check most/all options before I make a final decision.....maybe even find better and/or cheaper service.

I recently had issues with Enterprise Fleet Service which contracts AAA. I kinda....cursed them out after waiting over 4 hours (long story short). Doh! I don't know whose fault it was, AAA or Enterprise. The tow service was not dispatched until 20 minutes before they arrived. So either Enterprise didn't call AAA or AAA sat on their asses.

Any testimonials for service of AAA, Allstate, or any other road service providers?

Yow, $100 from AAA? I'm only paying $40 annually for that and the other AAA privileges/services... Must vary from region to region. Sweat

Don't know much about any other roadside assistance providers... It's always been AAA for most of the people I know...

I think I pay $80+ for my membership, but I have the Plus option. It lets me tow a car for up to 100 miles. I used it one time when my car broke down and had it towed to my parents' house 60 miles away. It would have cost at least $100 since I would have exceeded the tow limit of the regular membership. But I mainly use AAA for the maps. Each one saves me $3-5 a piece.

You mean drag race?

No, never. Speeding on the freeway or a long stretch of highway is one thing, but on city streets? I'm not that crazy.

Autocrossed now and then two/three cars ago, but not anymore.

No draggin' on freeways, people i know used to drag on "uninhabitied" stretches in industrial sectors in carson on the weekends when that shiet was not in use....before it got hot...and the cops came....trust me it was much less dangerous than the freeway...back in the daysyou could run for hours before a living soul showed up...and that used to be the cops....these were streets with long stretches no lights.....no cars, nothing...ah, the good ol' days....

ever go to willow springs? my boy used to hit that track up.

Nope. $80 is just for me. She's an additional $39, I believe.

That's the kinda thing I'm looking for, long tows (more than 20 miles). However, in PA it's $106 per year for the Plus plan. The Basic plan only covers 3 mile tows....what use is that? Crazy I'm leaning to AAA, but I used to consider Allstate because it WAS cheaper. But they recently jacked prices up.
