Schumacher to replace Massa

ROME (AP)—Seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher is making a comeback for Ferrari to replace injured driver Felipe Massa.

Ferrari said Wednesday in a statement that the German had agreed to get back in the cockpit until Massa is fit to return. The next race is the European Grand Prix on Aug. 21-23 in Valencia, Spain.

�gThough it is true that the Formula One chapter has long been closed for me, it is also true that for team loyalty reasons I cannot ignore that unfortunate situation,�h the 40-year-old Schumacher said. �gBut as the competitor I am, I also very much look forward to facing this challenge.�h

I guess the Fox commentators were right: they said that McLaren and Ferrari were too busy battling last season instead of developing new cars like Brawn and Red Bull, but they'd get things sorted by mid-season...

And I don't know what's happened to BMW-Sauber.

no, it's not picking up stuff as good as it should and it leaves a layer on my fingers which is really hard to get off.

Have you tried using Goop or similar?

Latex gloves, maybe?

then it would stick to the glove and everytime you fold the clay it would stick and that would annoy me to no end.

didn't try good, but a stiff bristle and some tsp took it off

Schumacher Calls Off Comeback

BERLIN (AP)—Michael Schumacher on Tuesday announced he has called off his much-anticipated Formula One comeback because of lingering injuries from a motorcycling crash earlier this year.

The seven-time world champion was to fill in for injured Ferrari driver Felipe Massa and hoped to return at this month�fs European Grand Prix in Valencia, Spain.

Schumacher said on his Web site he informed top Ferrari officials on Monday evening that �gunfortunately I�fm not able to step in for Felipe.�h

Schumacher, 40, retired at the end of the 2006 season. Since then, he has raced occasionally in a motorcycling series but was injured in a crash in February.

�gI am disappointed to the core. I am awfully sorry for the guys of Ferrari and for all the fans which crossed fingers for me,�h Schumacher said.

Ferrari announced that team test driver Luca Badoer will race in Massa�fs place at Valencia. Badoer, an Italian, was first floated by Italian media after a crash took Massa off the race circuit.

Montezemolo said Ferrari decided to give Badoer �gthe chance to race for the Scuderia after he has put in so many years of hard work as a test driver.�h
