Just finished watching the second season of Cracker, a British TV crime series. It stars Robbie Coltrane as a psychologist who helps the police solve horrific crimes. Coltrane's character is deeply flawed: he is an alcoholic and gambling addict who deliberately goes out of his way to antagonize those around him whether they be family, the police, or complete strangers. Smart, insightful, acerbic, and funny, he's certainly one of the more memorable characters in the TV mystery genre. Season two ends in a cliffhanger, so I need to netflix season three asap.

I have a soft spot for British crime series; I enjoy watching them more than I do American crime dramas. A Touch of Frost, a long-running detective series which recently ended, is probably my favorite British crime series, mainly because of the protagonist, wonderfully played by David Jason.

Hey Geezer, if you're reading this, the first season of New Tricks is coming out the end of this month on region one DVD, so hopefully it will be available on Netflix. I really want to watch this one (unlike up north, the PBS station in my area hasn't shown it).

House looks to be a great show from the few episodes that I've watched so far. I really should start following that show now that Burn Notice is done for the summer.

Burn Notice is about a spy who gets outed from his job and is trying to clear his name. As a burned spy, his accounts are frozen and he's stuck in his hometown of Miami. He basically takes up jobs helping people, working along with his ex-girlfriend and a Navy SEAL partner he used to work with. He uses his spy skills to help take down bad guys and earn some cash on the side. The show reminds me of Macgyver. It's a nice show, doesn't take itself too seriously, fun to watch.
