Yup. That was satisfying! I loved when they arrested Jabba the Hutt (aka Rizzo) and his shapeless fat mass did the perp walk in cuffs from his home to the patrol car.

Yeah, I saw that... Nothing like serving up a big ol' slice of humble pie to that chump. Applaud

No surprise, really... If it weren't for the money, he wouldn't be defending this troll.

No doubt. Rizzo doesn't feel like he didn't anything wrong. At least come up with some believable sh*t!

These scumbags never feel that they did anything wrong... All the more reason to get a public bitch-slapping.

They need to go after that police chief as well: he's certainly not above the law.

I hope that fat f*ck likes those bologna sandwiches in prison.

Oh yeah get this shiet...Rizzo also has a second home in Auburn, Washington which is situated on a 10 acre horse ranch which he owns individually.

Yeah but that case would be the most difficult to prosecute because he didn't have the public governance authority that the other fools who got arrested did...even though it's obvious he was in collusion with the whole thing because he got a fat ass salary too.

According to the news, the police chief was claiming some kind of disability involving his back and knees, but people have claimed to have seen him in doing physical activity which contradicts the police chief's claim... A case of fraud, it sounds like.

A just read that! What a f*ck.

How the hell could you be chef of police and be disabled...like they are going to hire a disabled chef of police...how the hell could you possibly be qualified for the job. That is like saying Usain Bolt would be qualified for 100m dash if he was missing 8 toes.

The amount of corruption in Bell is amazing... I sort of forgot how it was exposed... But I'm glad it happened.

The state probably doesn't have the funds for it, but maybe all cities need to be audited... It's certainly a wake up call.

Another reason why people don't trust cops in L.A.

Bell police were ordered to bring in revenue

Thursday, September 23, 2010

BELL, Calif. (KABC) -- Thursday's monthly neighborhood watch meeting in Bell took on a different tone as residents came to seek reassurance and answers from the police department, which had been ordered to make money for the city by impounding cars and giving excessive tickets.

"Before, you would drive out here really scared. You would be wondering are they going to stop me, are they going to give me a ticket?" said resident Adriana Miramontes.

Many Bell residents said for years they did not trust their police officers because of the excessive traffic stops and impounds made within the city.
Longtime Bell police officer Kurt Owens said it was former city manager Robert Rizzo that ordered his department to focus on impounds as a revenue source for the city.
"They had graphs and charts and daily quotas, daily activity logs you had to fill out and if you did your correct amount your name was in green and if you didn't do your correct amount your name was in red."
Officers said the department had made $800,000 on impounds alone in the previous year.
At Thursday's meeting, police officers tried to reassure the community that with Rizzo and seven others now facing charges the police will be moving in a different direction.

^ In some ways, that's a microcosm of the police in general. Sweat

Undoubtedly. That's why they have such a sh*t reputation, at least in L.A.

You think City of Los Angeles isn't doing something similar? Dude they just changed the metered parking laws so that metered parking applies from 8AM to 8PM, instead of 6PM. And now it's actually ILLEGAL to park at a broken meter, if you do so, you will get a parking citation. WTF?

If the city really wants to make money, they need to jack up the fine for texting and cellphone usage while driving instead of that chickenshit $20... We'll have a budget surplus in a year. Beaten

I so agree!!!! Almost every time I'm behind a car going slower than the flow of traffic, I see that the person has his/her phone on their ear chatting when I go around them. The police are never around when you need them. Grumble

Today at noon the Japanese consulate in Los Angeles is expected to be overrun by people with fins on their heads (Jimmy Buffet fans, this is your time to shine) and fires in their dorsals as they gather to protest marine massacres during International Save Japan Dolphins Day.

Downtown LA is one of many locations for the worldwide protests over Japan's annual dolphin slaughter, and the demonstrations will focus on human-rights issues (like ingesting dangerous amounts of mercury found in dolphin meat), environmental issues (like polluting the oceans with dangerous amounts of mercury that poison dolphins) and animal-welfare issues (like butchering mercury-filled tortured dolphins) brought to public attention in Ric O'Barry's award-winning documentary gThe Cove.h
