Where did you get all these datas from? Help! Coz i thought FujiTV english pages stop updating >.< And everytime I go there....the latest drama is still Tokyo Love Cinema!! Not updated at all....! Sad

And, ne....onegaishimasu! Can you find infos/synopsis on TBS' Suna no Utsuwa which will start on Jan 18th? Starring Nakai Masahiro, Takeda Shinji, Matsuyuki Yasuko.
It is said that its a suspense mystery drama, adapted from a popular novel. A movie adaptation of it in 1970s was a big hit....

Anytime yanie_chan Good .

If you want to see new update on FUJI TV doramas (the English version), you can go to these links :

http://www.fujitv.co.jp/en/program/new_prog/d_pride.html

http://www.fujitv.co.jp/en/index2.html

Finally TBS has update their website Jumpie . As you request :

Vessel of Sand / Suna no Utsuwa

Cast : Masahiro Nakai, Yasuko Matsuyuki, Masaru Nagai, Kotomi Kyono, Ken Watanabe

Synopsis (From TBS website) :

Eiryo Waga (Masahiro Nakai) is well-known musician. As a composer and pianist, he has begun a rapid climb to stardom. But he must keep his terrible past a secret.

One day someone who knows all about his past, Kenichi Miki (Hidekazu Akai), appears before him. In order to protect the fame he has obtained, Waga kills Miki. Immediately after that, Waga runs into Asami Naruse (Yasuko Matsuyuki). He manages to pull himself together and leave the scene.

An investigation team is established led by two detectives Shuichiro Imanishi (Ken Watanabe) and Masaya Yoshimura (Masaru Nagai), but they have difficulty making any headway. Meanwhile, by coincidence Waga bumps into Asami again. Asami is a stage actress has her own dark past. Soon the two fall in love. But Waga is already engaged to Ayaka Tadokoro (Kotomi Kyono). It was with her father's help that Waga began his ascent to the top of the music world. It looks like Waga's ambitions are about to confront reality. However....

Based on Seicho Matsumoto's famous work that was released in 1960-61, the drama illustrates the life of a man burdened with a heavy fate in a contemporary setting.

Almost every week got above 20% viewership......
Maybe i'm wrong....gomen. Sweat

Sure thing atheon Thumbsup

For your question, here's the explanation I quoted from http://j-fan.com :

There are also two long dramas that started last season and have continued on into this one. They are "shiroi kyotou" and "aibou". It is a bit unusual for dramas to continue on into the next season, but there are no firm rules about this. Both of these dramas are hugely popular.

Actually, his character, Yagyu Hyogonosuke is troubled: He's trying to live down the horror of killing women and children during one of Japan's many battles during this time period (Sekigahara?)... He's basically a good samurai, but his uncle, Yagyu Munenori (later Yagyu Tajima-no-kami) persuades him to be a sort of enforcer (assassin) for the Tokugawa shogunate... A very complex role.

Gomen ne for my late reply bmw san Sweat .

Thank you very much on your explanation about Yagyu Hyogonosuke. Thumbsup
Wow, that's a really complex character indeed. Very far from what I imagine before considering his role in Central Ikegami Police looks like this Bonk Bonk Mr Green :

If he can play two different-contrast characters very well, he must be a good actor. Thumbsup

Thanks, I needed the English summary of the drama. I know there's a TBS site in Japanese for Suna no Utsuwa, but is there an English one, like for Fujitv dramas?

Okie Dokie Wink

For TBS doramas, there is an English website for the summaries in general.

Check out this link :

http://www.tbs.co.jp/eng/currently/dramas.html

But for the official website of Suna no Utsuwa, the website still in Japanese. I think there is no English website for each particular TBS doramas [ so does for other TV station dramas ].

Official website for Suna no Utsuwa :

1. Rampo R

on YTV

Starring :

Manami Honjou & Ryu Fujii

Synopsis (from Kaze Kiri FX) :

Ranpo R is dope. It's a mystery drama. Each episode is based on a story from the classic Japanese auther Edogawa Ranpo, who imitated Edgar Allen Poe's name and style. I'm enjoying this drama a lot now. It also has some pretty good special guests in each episode. They had Nakama Yukie once.

2. Keishijyou Kanshiki Hon 2004

on NTV

Starring :

&

Kazuhiko Nishimura & Minami Kaho (a.k.a. Miho Nakayama hubby's Ex Wife Mr Green Naughty )

Synopsis (from Kaze Kiri FX) :

it seems to be another mystery/suspense type drama getting a pretty lukewarm response.
