Honestly, I'd be highly suspicious of this drama considering it's the same writer who wrote the script for Last Firends: she'll probably use more hot button issues and cheap tactics for ratings...

There's also a rumor about casting an unknown actor for the role in Innocent Love. However, from somebody who used to love Korean dramas, I must say that the plot already sounds like something out of a K-Drama.
now im really getting impatient as to who's Maki's partner will be..
whoever that unknown actor is, hopefully there's lots of chemistry bet. them..
read some rumors too about Yu Kashii being casted as the somewhat Prince Charming's sister that'll be ill-treating the Cinderella..lots of buzz going on already at 2ch.. _________________

The script is an original work written by Taeko Asano, whose most recent hit was "Last Friends" this past spring.
Time for someone to atone for their mistakes...

Like that show, "Innocent Love" will focus on the lives of modern youths.
DO NOT WANT! That's like the magic phrase to summon Ryo, are they going to use that tagline for anything this writer touches anymore?
Quote:
The shows also share a director (Yusuke Kato) and a producer (Toshiyuki Nakano).
Oh...so in other words, if this one bombs too, we still can't figure out whether it was the writers or the directing that screwed it up? Fantastic...

The story centers around the tragic heroine Kanon Akiyama (Horikita). As a child, she lost both her parents to a murderer, and her older brother was arrested as the prime suspect. Shunned by her town as the sister of a killer, she heads to Tokyo and picks up a job as a housecleaner. There, she has a fateful encounter with a man, but the road to romance is fraught with difficulty.
Actual Translation: Needs more DV!
Now EVERYONE is beating the crap out of our protagonist that will sit there and take it, we'll even take out her parents and have the entire town hate her so NOBODY can save her this time! Sounds more like a prequel on how Nobuta became absolutely twisted like she did at the beginning of that show...

Horikita Maki.. as Cinderella with a Last Friends twist. There's even a rumor that Akanishi Jin going to play the lead. I really don't know how I should react to this.
This seems to be a growing trend of the Johnny boys now...what, if we want them to take a serious turn, they have to beat the crap out of a starlet in primetime? I'm getting odd visions of what would happen if this writing/directing team took over the Hana Yori Dango movie...MatsuJun beating the heck out of Mao would be a sight!

I'd pay money to see the reverse.
We already saw that in the first episode...even if it was one punch. I dunno, something just strikes me as hilarious if he had turned around and just laid some 'DV' on her at that point...but thinking about it again, if she had followed it up with like a steel chair or something, that'd be even better!

Yuzu's Kitagawa to play Horikita's love interest
Tue, August 26, 2008 (2:03am EDT)
The male lead has been revealed for the Fuji TV drama series "Innocent Love," which stars popular actress Maki Horikita. Rather than casting a popular young actor for the role, the network has chosen Yujin Kitagawa, the 31-year-old leader of folk duo Yuzu.
The drama is described as a "Cinderella story," with Horikita playing Kanon, a pitiful woman who eventually finds love with a pianist named Junya (Kitagawa). Junya's character is cheerful and innocent on the surface, but his heart is full of painful sorrow.
Kitagawa actually started out his entertainment career as an actor, before Yuzu got their big break. He appeared in multiple dramas, such as "Meitantei Hokenshitsu no Obasan" in 1997, and he even starred in the 1996 horror film "All Night Long 3: Saishusho." However, he has been focused on music since Yuzu made their debut in 1997.
"Innocent Love" is filling Fuji TV's Monday 9:00pm time slot this fall.

Most folks who want a Johnny in it will be disappointed! But I love Yuzu and I love Yujin and he's gorgeous and I think I'm going to stick around for a while. Hopefully the Last Friends team won't screw this one up! _________________

We'll be the judge of that. If by 'full of painful sorrow' they mean he's going to be using his belt when he smacks her around, so help me. They'd better flesh out his backstory for us to legitimately have any kind of connection to him unlike what they did with Ryo. Oh, and this is the guy...

Couldn't help but feel a tinge of 'fan-ism' come from that statement, I fear for humanity that ends up becoming Last Friends II: The Cinderella Saga.
Anyways, to contribute, got this from pori-chan.com off of d-addicts.com (didn't fake it this time, honest!):

Today finally the the other cast members of the cast of Maki's new dorama "Innocent Love" have been revealed. The biggest surprise would be the male leading part, because Kitagawa Yuujin (31) from the popular folk song duo "Yuzu" will be in charge of that one. This would be his first ever role in a dorama and already as the lead actor at the side of popular Horikita Maki. However, Kitagawa isn't a totally new actor as he has been doing some acting in movies like "Meitentei Hokenshitsu no Obasan" or "All-Night Long 3: Last Chapter" before his actual breakthrough with the folk duo Yuzu in 1998. "I was really surprised. It's a new challenge and I'll work hard with all my might," he commented with a lot of ambition. "I think Horikita Maki is a wonderful actress, whether it's in movies or doramas and I'm very happy to be able to act together with her. I'm slightly older than her, but when it comes to acting she is my senpai. Please take care of me."
The theme for Innocent Love is about "modern loneliness" and the heroine Kanon (Maki) who got neglected by the world around her. Kanon is trying to find happiness in this modern Cinderella story. Kitagawa will play Nagasaki Junya she is wholeheartedly falling in love with. His role is not an easy one. He is a pianist for a church's children choir who seems to have a cheerful naiveté from the outside, but in the inside he holds a deep sadness.
Other cast members include Kashii Yuu (21) who is going to play the role of Sakurai Midzuki, a childhood friend of Junya who has feelings for him since they were young. She'll be like the "first villain" who's going to bully Horikita's character.
Fukushi Seiji (25) will be Kanon's older brother Akiyama Youji who got in juvenile prison as suspect for the murder of their parents. He is worrying about his sister and her loneliness, but he suffers due to the fact that he can't go outside these walls.
Segawa Subaru, a very close friend of Junya will be played by Narimiya Hiroki (25) who's in charge of bringing a fresh and modern feeling to that show. He himself struggles with the problem that he can't tell anybody his feelings, not about his worries about his new assignment and neither his feelings towards the person who loves him.
Shining actress Uchida Yuki (32) will play Kiyoka, the fiancé of Junya. She will be an important key role for the dorama.
According to the producer there is a reason behind every casted actor/actress. "I wanted to appoint him (Kitagawa) for a dorama before already, but this time I finally made the request. If the dorama can reflect the charm that comes out from his inside, then I think there will be a great chemical reaction. He hasn't yet shown anything to the general audience, so please take note of him."
About Kashii Yuu, "I wanted an actress who could play such an ugly character in the inside that you wouldn't be able to tell from her elegant face. It's the first bullying role and I thoroughly wanted to portray it."
"Fukushi-san showed his talent on NHK and I thought he would be the right person for that character with a lot of darkness inside of him. That's why I made him the offer. It will be fun changing him from an handsome man into a man with close-cropped hair."
And then Narimiya, "His role is really delicate with a shock-like secret he is keeping to himself. I think you will be attracted by how great he performs that difficult role."
Uchida will be in charge of the beautiful girl, but as much as she is beautiful as much can she fight and strife for something.

I've been browsing youtube for Yuzu's stuff. I've been missing on some great music. The way he performs on stage with such a carefree spirit looks promising. Definitely got the charm and stage presence.
*blinkblink*
You don't have any favourite actor/performer Tenshigure-san?
There's just too many dramas to choose from and most people would pick based on the cast. As for the writer for Last Friends... didn't she also wrote the script for Love Generation? I'm not very fond of that drama but it was highly praised here... I think . Did Takuya DV-ed Takako in that one? The whole drama was a blur to me
Aseno Taeko also wrote Kamisama mou Sukoshi Dake.

Hiroshi Tamaki, Karina co-star in "Love Shuffle"
Thu, November 13, 2008 (12:33am EST)
Screenwriter Shinji Nojima is working on an upcoming TBS drama series titled "Love Shuffle." The romantic comedy will star several popular actors, including Hiroshi Tamaki, Karina, Shota Matsuda, and Shihori Kanjiya.
Tamaki plays a manager at an IT company who breaks off his engagement to the president's daughter (Kanjiya). Later at his apartment, a power failure leaves him trapped in an elevator with three other residents (Karina, Matsuda, and Shosuke Tanihara). While waiting, their conversation hits upon the question of whether there is truly only one fated partner for everyone. As a result, they decide to run an experiment by "shuffling" their relationships with one another.
"Love Shuffle" premieres on January 16 and will air every Friday at 10:00pm.

No no and no - once more Kazuya Kamenashi is going to spoil a manga for me, like he did with Suppli. In order to accomodate Kame they changed the whole story and turned a 26 year old side character into a 19 year old main character.
I recently started to read Kami no Shizuku and I liked the first volumes so I will really have to avoid this drama.
