I thought I had already posted about next year's taiga but can't find it so I'll try it again.

Ryo Yoshizawa to star in 2021 taiga "Seiten wo Tsuke"

Ryo Yoshizawa will star in the 2021 NHK taiga drama "Seiten wo Tsuke", which is about the life of Eiichi Shibusawa.

Eiichi Shibusawa was born in 1840 to a farmer’s family. He grew up helping his family with work, which was to manufacture and sell indigo production and also silk farming. He left home at the age of 23 and began working for the government. He later travelled to Paris and learned about banking. Upon his return to Japan, he helped build up the first modern bank in Japan. He eventually became a founder or supporter to about 500 companies and was involved with about 600 public services, including education for women.

"Seiten wo Tsuke" begins airing in January 2021.

Looks like this one might give "Hana Moyu" some competition for "most boring taiga ever". Shake Head

Yup. Don't think they'll be a lot of sword play going on.

But, as usual, a lot of really good actors in the supporting cast:

"The 20 newly announced performers are Kaoru Kobayashi, Emi Wakui, Eri Murakawa, Ryoko Fujino, Kengo Kora, Riko Narumi, Seiichi Tanabe, Shinnosuke Mitsushima, Ai Hashimoto, Kenshi Okada, Sei Hiraizumi, Mayumi Asaka, Naoto Takenaka, Ikkei Watanabe, Kanji Tsuda, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, Shinichi Tsutsumi, Yoshino Kimura, Mitsuru Hirata, and Hiroshi Tamaki."
