Sorry for jumping in before Wintersweet responses, but I can answer your question since I always record the Saturday JTV on my DVR and was able to scan thru to find the advert for the 3-part movie special. The start time is indicated as 10:30, which means it will be in the Sapuri/Nep League time slot.
It is true that the 35th and last episode of Quintuplets is coming next Saturday, but I haven't seen any indication of what will follow it. I too would like to see another NHK asadora, but as we talked about this series 35 weeks ago when it first started, this series of Quintuplets is only one of many over the years, which started in 1999 and could conceivably continue on after the quints graduate from HS, go on to college, get married, have children, etc. And this particular series was from 2005, and there has been another series every year since then, so that means there are 3 more already in the can. And there will probably be a 2009 version starting in Japan in July (the traditional month for it to start). So I think FujiTV/KTSF may have secured some deal to guarantee content that could go on for many years (which may have been cheaper for them to acquire than the NHK asadoras). Time will tell.

Yeah, thank God I wuz wrong! It won't be the Quintuplets forever afterall!!!
However, I noticed that it is another TBS afternoon drama and not an NHK asadora So maybe they did work a deal with TBS to provide them with these afternoon dramas (perhaps called "gogodora?") for eternity!!!!!!

Well, "Tanoshii Yochien" wasn't toooo bad. Could have been a lot worse for us to suffer through for the next 65 weeks!
But the actress who plays the wife: Wasn't she in "Happy" and the sequel we all were dying to see... "Happy 2"? Yes, "TY' will definitely be better that those "dogs."
Oh, and the little actress who plays the daughter. Wow! Is she terrible! Makes me appreciate the acting ability of many of the other little children we've seen over the years, including the little boy in "Homemaker" (and I thought HIS acting was awful!).
And, while I have the floor....That spring movie special: How old is it anyways?!!!!! I looks like it was made in the 70's but maybe it's only from the 80's?
On the other hand, the two (yes 2!) non-subtitled doramas starting next Sunday nite on KTSF look interesting. I guess they've decided to dispense with Moshimo Tours and Economic Compass for the next 12 weeks or so. I can't say I'm going to miss those two shows at all! I do like that occasional filler they put on when they split a first or final episode into 2 parts though; I think called "Japan's Beauty" or something like that. Beautiful videography! I've actually collected many of them and put them on a DVD.

KTSF Commercials:
Is Dr. Jayson Tsuchiya the son of Yuma Tsuchiya the piano salesman? Did they get a family package on ads?
Tanoshii Yochien:
I think that the actress was in "Happy" - my first exposure to Jdorama. I thought it was a bad joke at first.
Yes, the four-year-old girl could stand to have a half-dozen years of drama study at Juillard. Geez. _________________ - Douglas

Well the third and final part of this ancient-looking movie aired last Saturday, but apparently Sapuri will not return yet next week! There was some announcement about a change in the schedule for 5/2. I couldn't tell if it was permanent or not. It didn't look like it; it's most likely just for that day, to make room for some other ethnic programming perhaps.

I was wrong about one of these two new Sunday nite dramas. The first one turned out to be a TV movie split into 2 parts ("Bizan," based on a popular novel, and which also had a theatrical movie version). The second and final part aired last Sunday, but I didn't notice any announcement of any new movie or series to replace it. So, unfortunately I guess we'll see the return of Moshimo Tours and Economic Compass. The second drama, "Innocent Love," is a regular series with 10 episodes (although the first episode was probably split into 2 parts). BTW, I though Bizan was pretty good, but Innocent Love doesn't appear to be. Of course, if it was subtitled, I'd watch it anyway! I agree: finding the commercials more interesting to talk about is a bad sign!
BTW, another bad sign for Japanese programming on KTSF: the NHK News7 program, which I've been watching everyday for years now (with the English SAP voiceover) has been further cut back in the number of days it is being shown. A few months back, the Saturday evening show was eliminated, but that didn't bother me too much, since the Sunday show seemed to mostly have the same news stores as Saturdays.... except when one of the bi-monthly sumo tournaments was going on! But since a couple of weeks ago, they also eliminated it on Mondays and Tuesdays! So not only will there be a two day gap in the news stories from Japan, it also means that when a sumo tournament is going on, I will no longer be able to see the daily highlights - which are usually the matches with the top guys, like Asashoryu and Hakuho OK, OK, for most of you who aren't interested in sumo at all (or even the news from Japan), the fact that the daily evening news has gone from 7 days a week to only 4 is yet another bad sign for the future.

I am on satellite. If I switched back to cable I could get TV-Japan. The relatives have it, and they watch Japanese programming 24-7.
What's with these weird shocho commercials?
Everyone's melting. Funny.
Notice that they are actually drinking. This is not allowed on US ads. More weirdness. _________________ - Douglas

Here I go again responding to one of my own posts, but I wanted to give an update on something...and it is yet another bad sign for the Fuji-TV Saturday evening programming. Not only was there no regular J-TV programming after the Taiga dorama on 5/2, but there hasn't been any for the third Saturday in a row now. I guess that means the announced change was permanent afterall, and Saturday J-TV programming is down to only 90 minutes. So I guess we indeed have seen the last of Sapuri and NEP League here in the SF Bay Area! And I guess the best we're going to have for non-Taiga subtitled dorama will be Tanoshii Yochien, at least for the next 60 weeks. I'd add an emoticon here showing tears flowing like twin waterfalls but I'm done crying over the hacking away of the programming by Fuji-TV over the past year. I am grateful that at least TokyoTV seems to be still thriving over on Sunday nights. The absence of good subtitled dorama for quite awhile now is a message to all of us that we just really need to stop being lazy and buckle down to finally gain sufficient proficiency in nihongo so we don't need those darn subtitles! Now, while TVJapan is a source (albeit expensive) of non-subtitled programming, I found that, except for the asadora and the annual Kohaku show, NHK is not what I want to watch! That's why the loss of the Fujisankei programming on the cable TV system in SF (first on AZN and then ImaginAsianTV) was so unfortunate.
On the other hand: For those of you like me who are still too lazy to finally learn nihongo, and who don't/can't do bittorenting of subtitled dorama, do you know about dramacrazy.net? Check it out!
