It's by accident that the Asian male is marginalized in Western society and it is reflected in their portrayal in the media. Places like Japan even does it to its OWN men, heh. All of this, while on the other hand, the "Asian woman" is said to be "exotic" and "fetishized"...

asian males are portrayed by the media and rich gadget toting geek/nerd who works in a techy firm and have the generic look with slit-like eyes and spikey hair (somewhat real? those of you who fall into that.. raise your hands! hehehehe)
Even when choosing models for magazines/MTV type stuff the male ASIAN look always has the same type. of course i'm speaking from what is preceived by a general american audience. You know what i'm talking about....
the latest deodorant add on TV makes me annoyed. what is with that kung fu kicking guy and the parents in the chinese restaurant and that stupid accent.
what i can say is, what an asian thinks is asian beauty and what a non-asian (american/european for this matter.... who really knows what the others think.....) think is really different eh? just look at the japanese/taiwanese/korean idols/actor/actresses/blah, they'll never make it.
