Mayonaka no Ame..no one seems to care about this one but heck I love it..
Beginner..despite many complaints about how hard it is to understand the legal terms used in this drama, I think this one is enjoyable & motivating & chraming in its own way
Hero..I'm totally into this one and I have to say that I prefer Hero than Good Luck!! & Pride Bleah
Big Wing..Don't know why but my family & friends didn't really like it Sweat don't care though coz I love it Mr Green

Didn't know Virgin Road was that popular among this board, but I loved it tho Wink

I vote for Kimi to ita mirai no tame ni, starring Dohmoto Tsuyoshi, although I don't really know if people disliked it, I had feedback from my friends that they hated it, but I liked it, pretty much too.

I liked both SOS and Virgin Road, too. I guess I don't mind shows that are sappy/corny.

I thought Long Love Letter starring Tokiwa Takako was so realistic but some found it too scientific... But it was one of the better shows i guess.

Oh another show that is good but not hot is Shinjuku Rescue Team starring Uehara Takako. It's a solid show...

Not so much that people didn't like the drama but hardly anyone KNOWS about it.

It's in my top-five list but I'd be hard pressed to find it on someone else's top twenty.

"AI NANTE IRANE YO, NATSU" (i cannot say i love you)

This drama is actually pretty well known among Korean viewers, and I've yet to meet someone who says that it was substandard or boring.

Good not so much for the cinematagrophy (little change of schenery throughout the drama), but for the leading actress and actor's acting skills, which are superb. I doubt this drama would have been half as good had they cast someone else in the lead.

I never liked Hirosue Ryoko very much, but after watching this one I have to admit that she surpasses pretty much every other actress in her generation. She plays a blind girl whos parents divorced when she was very young, and grows up unloved, albeit very rich.

Watabe Atsuro is also brilliant as a 'host' who pretends to be Hirosue's older brother so he can take hold of her father's fortune, but ultimately falls in love with her.

For those of you who liked Battal Royale, you'll be happy to see Fujiwara Tatsuya putting in a very solid performance as Atsuro's sidekick(?).

Watch this if you want something different from your usual cheesy Japanese drama (well, i guess it does become a little corny with the last one or two episodes, but nothing too bad Sweat). Probably the kind of drama that you'll either love or hate, but if this is what you like, you'll find yourself listening to the theme song (Ikeda Ayako's "Life") for days on end, like me.

I enjoy Mayonaka no Ame too, I recently began watching a re-run and it's awesome. Would love it if U. S. Nippon TV re-ran Big Wing too. Home & Away? Great stuff, too.

I just chose Bara no Jujika because I've noticed I'm the only one who bothered to comment on it. No idea how many people actually watched it...

I skipped over Kabachitare, Hero, and Beginner. Too boring in the middle, no intrigue to keep you glued.

I'm bumping this old thread because I feel it could be really interesting if it keeps going some more w00t!

Anyway, mine is Dokushin Seikatsu. Everyone else I know who's seen it absolutely hated it and thought it was f***ed up. I liked it a lot!! Very dark and not the usual storyline....I thought it was unique and pretty cool. Also I thought the acting was great.

Hmm, another one is Garasu no Kutsu. Well, I know people who like it, but I also know many who hate it. It's one of my favorites although there's something about the plot I'd definitely change.

Okay, I'll pitch in to help KS315 keep this thread alive...

My vote goes to: My Little Chef w00t!
http://www.jdorama.com/drama.721.htm

This dorama doesn't get much love. Confused

Maybe because I'm a sucker for girl-next-door types like Seri (Yada Akiko) Smitten and can understand her character (chef, from a divorced family), it worked for me.

I liked long love letter too! My japanese could use ALOT of work (I'm taking classes now ^^) but I was able to watch, enjoy, and *somewhat* understand the storyline.

I also like Blackjack ni Yoroshiku, it's one of my favorites, in fact I must have seen it 5x already. I know this won awards and stuff, but I don't see alot of love for this series either, hehe.

For me, Love 2000 is probably the best JDorama i watched. Maybe because it's like the 1st JDorama i watched and it opened up my interest for Japanese Dramas.
Quite a few bad ratings about it.. but i think it is good and touching. Dancing

Another is Shin Hoshi no kinka. Many said this cant be compared to hoshi no kinka 1 & 2, but i like it all the same. touching. w00t!

I love Kimi wa Petto. I cant' say I'm the only fan of this show, but I still wonder why it was rated relatively low...
