I think it applies to all women, not just the Japanese ones. Shake Head

I can think of a couple of members here who have that mentality.

Trophy girls or wives are true all over the world, not just Japan. My ex-husband treated me like I was a trophy. It had to do with his own insecurities. Some people try to get their own exotic factor (whatever that means to them) through their choice of mates. Shake Head

oh i agree. however, as my mother is japanese and obviously japan and its people and culture are a huge part of my life i feel more sensitive to people's behaviour in japan. is this wrong? i don't know.
whenever i visit another country i consider myself a guest and behave accordingly rather than treat it as some place to be conquered.

Sorry kenjilina I didn't mean to give the impression that I didn't understand or sympathize with your point of view. I do! Just think of the type of guys that go to Japan to 'conquer' the women there as jerks. They are jerks or wankers, while in Japan and they will still be jerks, who probably can't 'conquer' any women back in their home countries and who haven't got a clue! Shake Head

please no need to apologise i totally understand your point of view. i didn't want people to think that i only think this kind of behaviour happens in japan. i know it happens all over the world. i was just trying to get across that it annoys me more in japan for the reasons explained. Mr Green
