VHS tape >> Digital Video Tape >> PC
Amrayu's method is the best, but I haven't bought a DVR yet.

DVR= digital video recorder.
there's different kinds though.
the tivo like kind - which has an internal hard disk that records shows. (most likely the kind that you have for your dish)
the dvd burner kind - which works like a vcr, and you just slap a blank dvd/dvdr/dvdrw/dvdram disc in.
the tivo-dvd burner kind - this has a hard disc, and the ability to record onto blank discs.
i have the dvd burner kind. so i just set the dvr and slap a blank dvd ram in. i use dvd ram so i can edit later and not waste discs. you can also use blank dvd-rs and just author the disc on the dvr itself. _________________

Hey, what model do you have? Does it accept DVD+RWs?

It sounds like my Panasonic E-55. But it only does -R/W -RAM. I've never used the -RAM part, though.

::BUZZ:: wrong answer for dochira... LOL
but close. i bought my dvr awhile ago (2 years ago??), so mine is an older model.

i think this is the one i have. i'm not at home, so i can't check the model number.. LOL.
But it records onto DVD-r and DVD-ram only. I think all of the older panasonics cannot burn onto DVD-rw.
Some of the other brands will only record onto DVD-r and DVD-rw, but not DVD-ram.
DVD-ram costs more, and lasts longer. Also the burn side, looks cool! _________________

So desu..!
I'm holding out until the DVD+RW models become more readily available... And cheaper.

It probably takes that many episodes just to get used to the characters and their associated names....
