Yatta!! I'm coming out from under the rock to bring news about Jin Akanishi's rumored lead role in a movie musical *crosses fingers and toes* and Ueda Tatsuya's butai or solo concert in 2009
schedule is March in Tokyo and April in Osaka same months as Yasada Shota and a month later than Koyama Keichiro of News FEb 2009 in Osaka and Tokyo.

Apparently on eiga.com and yahoo japan today, a legit website about japanese film related news, a headline popped up mentioning our lovely jin. The headline said:
KAT-TUN赤西仁、小林武史初監督作「BANDAGE」で映画初主演！
(KAT-TUN Akanishi Jin will be playing the lead role in Kobayashi Takeshi's first directed film, Bandage)
But the article is completely gone now, despite that they put up this article TODAY. Maybe they weren't suppose to release the news yet? Or maybe they decided to change the lead role all of sudden? i HOPE Jin will be playing the lead role
KAT-TUN deserves work because they've been lacking in it.

本 作は、90年代のアマチュアバンドブームを背景に、人気バンド“LANDS（ランズ）”のマネージャーとなった女子高生の目を通して、リードボーカルのナ ツ（赤西）と他のメンバーとの友情や確執、周囲の大人たちの欲望などを描く。タイトルには「BAND AGE（バンドの時代）」と「BANDAGE（包帯）」という2つの意味が込められており、夢を追う若者たちが傷つきながら成長していく青春群像ドラマに なりそうだ。
企画の発端となったのは「スワロウテイル」で一世を風靡した映画監督・岩井俊二。アマチュア作家の小説をもとに脚本を執筆し た岩井は、同作や「リリイ・シュシュのすべて」で音楽を担当、元MY LITTLE LOVERのメンバーで音楽プロデューサーである盟友・小林武史に共同プロデュースと監督を依頼した。
映画初監督となる小林は脚本を読んで、「感覚的に、主演は赤西仁がいいと思った」と、赤西起用の理由を説明。現在、衣装合わせに入っているという赤西は、ビジュアル面やセリフに関しても自分なりの意見を出すなど積極的に取り組んでいるようだ。
奥田プロデューサーは「音楽分野で経験豊富な小林さんが、どんな映像を作るか、楽しみにしている。赤西さん自身と主人公の生き方が重なるように描かれるのではないか。今まで誰も見たことがない音楽映画になると思う」と、映画の完成に大きな期待を寄せている。

Popular Idol Group, KAT-TUN's Akanishi Jin will be playing the lead role for the first time in a music drama called "BANDAGE". According to the Nippon TV executive producer, they will start filming aroud November 3rd and 4th within Tokyo. They are planning to release the movie around 2010.
The movie takes place in the 90's when amateur bands were popular. A high school girl becomes the manager of a popular band, LANDS, and the story is told through her eyes. She meets the lead vocal, Natsu (Jin) and other members and develop friendship. The title have two meanings - BAND AGE (the age of the bands) and also BANDAGE (bandage..lol). It is about youth chasing their dreams and growing from their experiences.

The director commented that after reading the script, he felt that Akanishi would be good for the lead role. They have already started to prepare by having Jin try on the costumes, read the lines, discuss their looks for the character, etc.
The producer commented "I'm excited for how it will become. I think the main character's and Akanishi's way of life will be very similar and shown on the screen. This will be a music movie that no one has ever seen
