August theme: Summer Days

Tanaka Koki

What says "summer" to you?
Wearing beaters. Although I start wearing them like in May, lol. Remember I did some acting (??) in Osaka? I used to just stay in the hotel and never went out after work so when I came back to Tokyo, I went out ALOT. For example I wet to the convenience store for no reason lol. Also, it feels like summer when there's strawberry syrup in our fridge. At the Tanaka-house in the summer, we mix the syrup with milk and drink it. It's DELICIOUS! After having a few of these drinks, I feel the summer breeze. That's around June. Yep, definately! Oh and night stores are also summer-y. The smell of barbequed squid! That and all those shops make me so excited!

How do you survive summer?!
Don't take long baths. Take cold showers. Wash yourself and maybe get in the tub for a bit and come right out... My record is about 7 minutes. Having a bath in the summer feels disgusting, eh?! It's so hot! But I'm not big on air conditioning. Only on horribly hot nights when I'm in desperate need do I turn it on, lol. Even then I only keep it on for an hour. My room is like a sauna in the summer and a freezer in the winter. It's made me a very strong, healthy kid, lol.

Your Best Summer
Can it be made up? lol. Getting a girlfriend and going to the beach. Then, when I get back from buying us hotdogs, some random guy is hitting on her. I ask her "Who's that?" and he says "Damn, she's already taken?!" and walks off. I dunno why but I find this situation so cool lol. Another good idea is I see a girl with a dolphin balloon at the beach. I go up to her and say "Is yours a guy? Mine's a girl, wanna let them play together?" and from then on we fall deeply in love! Yep, that would be great!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh Koki! He's so... Can't figure out how to say it... Kiza Sweat hehe

Ueda Tatsuya

What says "summer" to you?
I'm really sensitive so when there's even a slight change in temperature, I feel it. It's pretty annoying. When others are like "Hmm, starting to get hot, eh?" I'm already boiling. I wanna go to Hokkaido in mid-summer. It's not as hot or humid; pretty good., right?! The concert in Hokkaido was really fun too. The fans there are really enthusiastic and laugh at everything we say. Also, when we're in stand-by naer the audience, you can hear them talking, right? So when Nakamaru does his little beat-boxing, they're like "Whoa, he's SO good!" and they're totally amazed at what we do. It makes us feel so good inside. It's really fun for us to perform there because of them.

How do you survive summer?
Change hairstyles and play around! Use pins or maybe change the parting and already your mood is changed. ...Although I can never do my own hair, lol. I always get the stylist to do it. But there aren't any stylists for concerts so I never get to arrange it in any special way. Disappointing, I know...

Your Best Summer
I don't really have good summer memories because, well, it's so hot! I've been thinking about this, but lately these past few summers have been weird! Every year it seems to get hotter and hotter. Global warming sucks. And it gets hotter earlier. Before, it would get hot right when summer vacation started... But now it's hot during the rain season! Ahh, I wanna go to Karuizawa--no, Swistzerland for the summer, lol. Yeah, that's it! We should go to Switzerland with WinkUp! Beautiful scenery in the background of our shots; I think it would be AWESOME!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For those who don't know... Karuizawa's a pretty popular place to go to in the summer and it's alot cooler than normal areas. It's in Nagano. I've apparently been there according to my mom, lol, but I don't remember at all Sweat

**'kay, I'm watching Totoro right now ( Yeah ) so translations may come slower lol Nut

He is such a confident boy..er..or a show off? lol Beaten

Ueda..I'd like to comment on his hairdo.."change it already so you don't have to pin your hair with so many stuffs..lol" Beaten

Thanks for the translation maemo. Smile

Kamenashi Kazuya (Detana! The guy who keeps talking in complicated ways so it's impossible to understand what he's saying lol Sweat Well... I'll try my best!)

What says "summer" to you?
This summer I'm thinking of trying new things. First off is golf! Because you can go hit balls even when it's raining, right? I went to the driving range yesterday. It was my first time but I thought I did pretty good! Except I have like a baseball swing so they keep going left and right... It's a tough world we live in, I found out. The pressure's immense in this game too. During a game you screw up once and you're screwed up entirely! I hope to gain more concentration and strength from golf. I wonder when I'll finally be able to get out on the green... I think my first golf course should be like over-seas. I'll sound like a snob, lol. "Umm... My first golf course was... Hawaii. I did some surfing while I was there too. Hmm? My first MLB game? Oh yeah that was in New York. I got to watch the legendary Yankees vs Red Sox game. Yeah..." hahaha.

How do you survive summer?
Mmm, that would be to get some exercise. Don't stay inside the whole time just because it's hot! Oh FYI, lol, today's interviews were in the afternoon but I woke up at 8AM and worked out a bit. I've got plans to play 4 games of baseball this month too. All of you should get exercise too!

Your best summer?
In my elementary/jr. high days, we as a family used to go camping near a lake. We went wasping and caught bass... It was SO fun! At night we would set up our tent and have a barbeque and have fireworks. We went with other relatives once too. The adults used to always tell us kids to get to sleep early but we could hear them talking til past midnight. We were so jealous. Even now I'm the kind of person who loves to talk at night. I hope we get to go camping again sometime soon!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh you complicated poop, you! But you're a cutie so I forgive you! Sweat hehe

Nakamaru Yuichi

What says "summer" to you?
Well in Japan, before summer there's the rain season (tsuyu ne?). They say there's 4 seasons in a year but doesn't the rain season make it 5? To me, rain season=summer. The humidity screws up my hair so it's a rather troublesome time of the year... But oh well, it's only for a few weeks. After that, the summer fun begins!!

How do you survive summer?
Go mountain biking! I love getting on the bike with just a shirt on (?! that's what it says.. Nut Naughty ) and cruising around my hometown, and you always discover something new! To tell you the truth, I came to the studio yesterday by bike. My dog Mister can walk without a leash now so we go together. I've always loved biking~. All during highschool I went to school by bike. Coming home only took about 20 minutes but going there, the hills were horrible. Going was hell and coming home was heaven. Once I biked home in the rain but I must've looked stupid or something because a random old man asked me if I wanted to borrow his umbrella lol.

Your best summer
A few years ago I got to go to LA and Las Vegas and Hawaii... That was the best summer ever! We took pictures for that month's WinkUp. Jimmy and YamaP were there too. At night we told scary stories in our hotel room and freaked out. Koki even pretended he was being posessed by a spirit and scared the crap out of Kame... His eyes went all white and man, that was some good acting! Kame was like "Maybe we should pour a bucket of water on him.." but I knew he was just kidding so I couldn't do it. YamaP kinda flicked water at him and we found that hilarious! I hope we can do that again.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Doing Maru's interview after Kame's feels so rewarding... lol!

Taguchi Junnosuke

What says "summer" to you?
Wearing T-shirts makes me think summer's almost here. I love wearing T-shirts, they're so comfy! But I like collared shirts more than normal T-shirts. Lately I'm into checkered shirts. I also like shirts with sparkly little sequens too. I have the stylists buy me shirts more than go to the stores myself. I usually never go out just to go shopping. If I do, I'm usually alone. I like going shopping by myself because then you don't have to try and pace yourself with the other person. I like being alone alot of the time too so it's not much of a deal.

How do you survive summer?
Hmm, items that give off a breeze. But air conditioning kill your throat if you keep it on all night. To tell you the truth, my room doesn't even have
air conditioning lol. They asked me if I wanted one but I said no. Fans are much better! Or you just gotta forget about the heat and live on. Playing a game with everyone is the best way to do that! Right now everyone in KAT-TUN is obsessed with the same game and we play all the time; it's like war. The most obsessed are me, Nakamaru, and Akanishi probably. See, since there's 6 of us in KAT-TUN we have to wait so long for our turn when shooting photos so if we play a game, time goes by alot faster! Whose the best? Well obviously me! LOL!

Your best summer
Summer festivals! I love going to those, it gets me so excited! Eating yakisoba and playing shooting games. Gotta admit, I'm pretty good at those lol. I'm also good at crane games. Last time I got 2 things at once! Although I did use like 3000 yen (roughly $30) for it. Oh, then I can't really say I'm good lol...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh Junno, take me to a summer festival and win me something for a date! LOL! hehe w00t! Smitten

Akanishi Jin

What says "summer" to you?
The rain season! My hair won't listen to me at this time of the year; it's very annoying! And during the shooting of dramas it would start raining and we'd have to cancel that day's scenes. Anego was cancelled alot. But to think that after this it's the long-waited summer! I LOVE SUMMER! Going to the beach is my favourite. The feeling there is awesome. All these families and friends playing around always gets you in a great mood! When I get kids, I'm gonna take them to the beach all the time! And teach them wakeboarding!

How do you survive summer?
Get out of the house. Staying inside the entire time is definately not good for your health. What? It's hot outside? That's not the point. Of course its hot outside. And then you sweat alot and come home to your house all cool because of the air conditioning and it feels SO good... I tell ya it's a great feeling! But I can't really talk because everytime I go out I turn on the air conditioning and cruise around in my car, lol. But then, vice versa; it feels like summer when you just get out of the car and it's like "Ahhh so hot!" you know? Clouds floating in the blue sky, my favourite music playing, and driving around on a road where you can see the ocean; this is the best! Odaiba's also a good place to drive around. I go there alot too.

Your best summer
This year! I'm gonna use all my free time going to the beach and make it the best summer! Humans have to have a bit of a vacation at least once in a while. If I get a long break I wanna go to Spain or Italy with a friend... ["Umm, if it's alright with you, I'll go!" says Nakamaru from the side] Oh all right, let's go!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The end of WinkUp August 2005! I'll scan the pics later Mr Green
