dont worry, you got plenty of time to sign up. I'm not going to start the draft til later anyways. There's no point drafting right now, since no one wants to draft someone and have them get hurt you know. And everyone has to agree on the scoring system. Right now that's set to default.

yea, you can figure out who the Aya-chan team belongs to right? hehe

But yea, read up on the rules so you know how it works when you get the chance. I'll probaby put up a short tutorial in the coming weeks too but basically you just want good players on your team.

My problem with fantasy football is that they focus on stats (I think that's a baseball thing) and they look at the wrong guys.

QBs, RBs, and WRs. And the occasional TE.

For me, football is what happens on the lines.

What can I say, I'm an Uff-Da. They put me at Center when I started playing in the PAL when I was 8, and I stayed there until I graduated from High School.

Yea they don't give any credit to the offensive line and those guys are a critical part of the game. The only thing I don't like about fantasy baseball is that it requires daily attention. After 3 years of fantasy baseball, I've been on hiatus for the last 2. Maybe next season I'll start that back up again.

What, like the NFLE?

zchendevlemh

Football is pretty much an American obsession, and as such each and every fan feels the need to explain to the world why he or she knows more about football than coaches, players, or sportswriters.

For my part, I promise to stay over here in this little thread and try not to bore the rest of the community to death with my pearls of wisdom regarding the proper way to run the sweep.

One note:

Anyone who has never seen the game, or has seen it and doens't know what's going on and would like to... there are no dumb questions.

Football fans love to show how smart they are by explaining the game to people who've never watched it before. It makes us feel like we actaully know something.

The first regular season game (as far as I'm concerned) will be played September 12. Niners vs. Falcons.

Now, I gotta second this one, and AMEN this one too, from Geezer. Folks, fans, non-fans, newbies, all, the above can be applied to not just football, but, for a lot of sports.

"Sports Analyst(s)" the TV likes to tell me? No such thing.

Manny

Careful what you say, or we'll have Elton turning this into an NBA thread.

Awugh, don't get me started w/NBA, tha's another one (re: recent happenings regarding certain off-season NBAers concentrated on one team, playing -- should I use that term loosely? -- in the Mediteranean).

I'm a college f- and b-ball game watcher myself. More teams, more unpredictability, more HEART definitely (and if it's because they're trying to impress the scouts? Trying to get those millis after graduation? It's STILL heart).
