WARNING: CONTAINS DRAMA ENDING AND OUTCOMES OF PLOT.
Hi everyone,
I really need help figuring out the name of this drama. I saw it about 4-5 years ago on tv here in america on one of the local channels, it was subtitled and on around 9a.m. during the summer. So this is what remember from it. Its a love triangle drama 1 woman 2 men. Apparently the woman used to date one of the men who also happens to be her boss of the company they worked for later on in the show, but she dumps him for another guy who I think works at a rival company. But she then dumps the other guy too, but both of the men are still in love with her. I remember I saw the last episode of the show and she ends up back with the first guy she dated, they reunite at a beach. As for the other guy he ends up in a wheel chair if I remember correctly. Oh, and the woman works as a maid for a while because she takes care of the other guy when he ends up in a wheel chair. So as for the physical appearances of the characters, the woman has black hair alittle longer then shoulder length. As for the two men. The first one she dated and ends up back with seemed rather tall, had nice combed black hair all the time and sort of had a small face. And the other guy he had short brownish red spiked hair and a short beard. If anyone knows the name of this drama or any drama that seems simliar to this send me a message please, I'd really appreciate it.

LOL, people have to read it to help you identify it, so there's no need for a spoiler warning...
BTW, welcome to the forum.

I was chatting with my mom the other day, and she told me she watched one J dorama back in the 90s, of which I totally forgot what was the title... This was what she told me..
It is about a girl working in a departmental store. The uniform for the departmental store sales assistant is greyish color with a cute little tie/bow at the collar. The story revolves around the girl and the daily stories and events she encountered during her work.
Sorry... This sounds kinda vague, but this is all my mom could remembered. Haha

Hmm, I wanna say Tokyo Elevator Girl, but the lead actress (Miyazawa Rie) works the elevator, not sales....

The only drama that came to mind was Style! Of course, I'm not sure if the main character is a girl, as I only saw a snippet of this drama.

Hmm.... Maybe it is... but at the same time I got a feeling that it may be not... cos it is in 2000... nobody in my family watched Jdrama after the millenium except me.
Thanks to both cori and Tu_triky, anyway. _________________ **********************

Cool. I probably need to watch that one day since a certain someone is in it (he's the only reason why I noticed this drama).
Yet, even though I checked the description and it sounds like it, that "saw in the 90's" part that chokakoi mentioned is the only thing that's conflicting. _________________

Re: Style
Yuko Takeuchi is a wanna-be designer, working in sales.
Thing is... the ladies in the department featured in the series didn't wear uniforms. _________________ Manga is to Literature

Darn. Looks like we'll have to search the database again. I wanna say Pretty Girls, but only the department store and lead female character fits the description. Oh well. Hopefully someone can find out what the drama is.
Speaking of that, I hope someone can help me out this time.
My mom and brother want to find a drama with many episodes that aired in the early 90's. It was about a girl who marries into a family that owns a confection store. After her husband dies, she takes over in making the confections. What my family remembers is that the girl's in-laws hate her, but she never gives up and in the end, she's a success.
When I first heard about the confection part, the first thing that came to mind was the asadora Asuka, but the description of that drama doesn't sound like it. Any clues or ideas what this drama could be? _________________

Hi! It's actually TWO Japanese dramas that I'm asking about, but they both have the same main actor and actress as the leads.
First drama:
- The girl and boy attend the same high school. The boy is really popular and the girl is just a simple student.
- The girl gets hit in the head? [With what is beyond my memory.] and she goes "crazy."
- The "crazy" version of the girl is INFATUATED with the boy and becomes incredibly outspoken.
- The boy eventually falls in love with the girl, crazy or not.
- Every time the girl approaches the boy, she sings a tune? Here's a sad attempt with text: Lalalala la LALA. KOONJI [GOONJI?] I don't know how to spell it, but that's the boy's name.
Second drama:
- The girl from the previous drama meets girlB. At first they are rivals, but after seeing their similarities, they become best friends.
- The boy from the previous drama works at a cafe and it is HIS turn to be infatuated with the girl. [The dramas do not have the same plot, so this is considered a separate romance.]
- The girl from the previous drama and girlB end up opening a fashion shop called "Tropical Venus."
- One of the theme songs for this drama is "Venus - Bananorama" or whatever it is. [I'm your Venus, I'm your fire, etc.etc.]
PLEASE HELP. I've been searching for this drama for years. :o) Thanks, guys.

I saw this drama a long time ago when i was only a kid... my dad had a Japanese friend in college and he recorded a bunch of Japanese dramas... and he gave it to my dad when he left for Japan....
description of preview song:
It's about three friends co-habiting in this house. There are two guys and a girl. The theme song preview started out with all three of them on the beach, painting a small wall. One of the guy (the cute one) has a blue bandanna and the other guy (silly one) has a yellow bandanna and the girl was wearing a red bandanna. They were all painting on this small wall on the beach. The preview song showed them feeding each other, painting each other's faces, and sledding down from a sand hill. Then it went to a scene where the cute guy was the only one on the beach, wearing a suit, so he must be thinking about the past or something.
description of story:
The two guys were living together at first, then the girl moves in with them after she broke up with her boyfriend. They all became very good friends and eventually, the girl falls in love with the cute guy. Since they're friends, she didn't know how she would tell him, so she kept quiet until there was a good time to tell him. During this, the silly guy friend knows about her feelings towards the cute guy, but didn't want to say anything because he wants her to tell the cute guy herself. However, the cute guy already has a girlfriend at a local college and she's engaged to an older man. He eventually finds out, but still remained with girlfriend, which really broke the girl's heart. She decided it was best to leave the house, so she can forget him. So on the day she was leaving, she asked the cute guy to come home early so she can tell him about her leaving, but he didn't show up. His girlfriend broke up with her fiance and he went to comfort her and didn't return until hours later. When he got back, the silly guy was so mad at him, he punched the cute guy and told him that she is gone. The cute guy rushed to her room, to only find the hat that he gave her as a present lying on the floor. Then it showed her walking down the road carrying her luggage with the train passing by.
....that was all that i saw and never knew what happened afterwards....so if anyone can help me find the name of this drama...i will appreciate it very much!!!! it's been sooo long and i would love to find out what happened in the end... thanks!!!

this drama must have broadcasted around the 90s b/c i saw it when i was pretty young...
note: I remember there was always the letters, "KKK". It kept popping up throughout the drama.
description of preview song:
It showed a glass rose, then it shattered into many pieces. Then the face of the main female lead appeared in a broken mirror, then is slowly changed to the other 3 female leads, who were older (i'm guessing supposed to be her mother).
description of story:
The main female lead grew up in an orphanage and her background is a complete mystery and as the drama goes on, you find out that she was a result of a rape. Her mother was supposedly a teenage at the orphanage where she grew up and got raped by one of the high members from a yakuza or mafia. So her mother and two friends (or sisters) lured the guy to a waterfall and killed him. After the main female lead was born, she was taken away from her mother to the orphanage.
She eventually went to find her mother when she grew up, but no one would tell her information about the incident because it involved the yakuza/mafia, so she sort of investigate everything herself, along with a guy friend who is in love with her. As her investigation drew her closer to the answer, more murders are occurring and crime stuffs were happening, so a detective started investigating her and how she's related to all of the incidents. The detective eventually became her love interest and her as his.
As for the 3 ladies who could be her mother, the first one had a daughter who is kind of sick and she had permed long hair. The second woman had short hair and was a successful writer or something. The third woman was temporarily in a mental institution and has long wavy hair.
The last scene i saw was when the main lead was meeting with the third lady at a pier during the night to find out who is her real mother. The detective was trailing her, so he was at the pier too. The third lady revealed to the main lead that her mother was the first lady and just after she found out, a motorcycle pulled up and started shooting at her. The detective jumped from his hiding place to protect her and in the process, they both got shot several times and fell into the waters next to the pier.
....unfortunately...that was the last scene i saw... really pissed me off and still wondering about it after all these years... so any help or clues as to what this drama is.... it is greatly appreciated!!!!

Right, the drama I am talking about is about a girl/woman living at home with her brothers and sisters (one of the brothers may not be able to walk) and various things happen including the main sister falling ill and having to go into hospital and it seems she isn't gonna make it but eventually gets better. The drama has a very distinctive piece of piano music that they played.
Thanks in advance! |
The description fits Hitotsu yane no shita 2
http://jdorama.com/drama.140.htm
But the central character is really the eldest brother, so what you are looking for may be something else.
