I was wondering if anyone else has seen Sh15uya? (you can get the HeroLegends fansub from BitTorrent at scarywater)

It's about 15 y/o kids/gangsters in some kind of weird matrixy parallel Shibuya. (Shibuya + 15 = Sh15uya). Despite it's low production values and spotty acting, I like it so far. Maybe they just hooked me on the mystery of trying to figure out what the heck is going on.

It starts out with a 15 y/o waking up in Shibuya. He finds rival gangs, a super power psycho killer, a super-savior chick, and he can't leave the area.

I've been looking for this show in our local video rental stores, but nobody seems to have brought it in. I wanted to watch it since the CM's for the show looked really interesting.

I'm considering just buying the DVD's. From what you've seen so far do you think it would be worth it?

Hmm, interesting question ... peoples' tastes are so varied, I'd be afraid to recommend something and then you end up not liking it after spending money on it.

Is downloading not an option for you? Each episode from HeroLegends so far is about 24 minutes long, and they take up about 180MB. I don't know if the DVD would have eng subs? The fansubs I'm downloading do have decent eng subs.

As for me, I consider it "good cheesy fun". So I would watch it on TV (not an option for me though, so I download it from BT). But I do not think I would buy it to keep.

Anyway, it's basically a kids show, but not in a bad way. The actors are young and cute, as expected, but I don't recognize their names or faces. Some of the acting is quite dodgy. The big bad guy is some gaijin i don't recognize. The CGI effects in the fights are pretty cheesy. But I like stuff like that Smile

Also, I like shows where the main character doesn't know what's going on and has to figure it out. And so far, that's what this is.

Unfortunately, d/l isn't an option for me since I share a computer with my other siblings and technically the computer is my brother's since he's still in school.

I don't think the DVD's have english subs, but that's not too much of a problem for me since I understand enough Japanese to get by.

Sounds interesting, I guess I'll keep looking around a little longer and if nobody brings it in at all I might buy it anyway just to see it.

Thanks for the info! Mr Green

I had actually downloaded this drama with eng sub quite some time ago but didn't manage to complete it after uploader stopped uploading it after episode 3. It isn't the best drama I ever seen but it is quite different with its suspense , sci fict elements. It remind me of Matrix to some extent though it didn't have terrific CGs like matrix. However, it does have some good fighting scenes and a potential good plot.

Very brief plot summary for first 3 episodes (may have some spoilers)
The story start with a guy called Tsuyoshi (acted by a female actress Saya Yuki who has a small role in Ganbatte Ikimasshoi) who wake up in Shibuya (virtual world in this series?) after losing all his memories. In the world of virtual shibuya ,all the main characters are in their 15s and consist of 3 gangs that seek to own shibuya through eliminating each other while the rest of the people (not in their 15s) seems to be only stimulations. There is a super villian known as Peace that come out ocassionally to speed up the killing process. No one seems to really know the purpose of Peace's killing, only to watch helplessly as Peace strikes again. The only person who can stop peace is a mysterious girl known as Emma (played by Yui Aragaki from Dragon Zakura) who possess some power in this virtual world but dun belong to any gang. She seems to know and had been waiting for Tsuyoshi to come back for her. However, she soon became disappointed when she found out Tsuyoshi had lost his memory . But as the story unfolded, there are hints that Tsuyoshi seems to possess the key to save the real people in this virtual world. Why is this virtual world created? What is the relationship btw Emma and Tsuyoshi? why are the 15s trapped in this world and how can they escape? How will the potential love triangle btw Emma, Tsuyoshi and the new girl Asagi goes? This is a suspense and dark drama that explore reality as the main characters proceed to discover their own identities and destiny.

My interest and curosity on this drama is spur again after recently watch a really awesome opv of this drama by apple pie. It can be downloaded from the site below.
http://kaaj.spirited-wings.com/Sh15uya/.
It is one of my all time favourite OPV.

Wondering if anyone had watched this drama beside me and may like to share some reviews and spoilers (seems no one has the remaining drama already) or upload the raws =).

I was aware of it, but I never watch it. It would have been nice to see though. =T

There was another thread about this thought here: http://www.jdorama.com/viewtopic.6909.htm , but I guess it wasn't in the right section. Smile

Thanks for pointing that out, T. Thumbsup

I'll move that other thread over here and merge the two.

Well, sure it's a little too late for him, but it is a really terrific song, Victory! Peace! it's had 2,249 views, probably 100 from me, hehe here's the video for it, got a few scenes from the show mixed in.

Sae- Sekai no Owari- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajV7_48Hvlw

Few screen caps from the closing credits when they play the song, only 1:22 of it though. Grumble
