my grandfather never confessed i believe. but my mom and grandmother keep telling me that men in Japan now are pretty soft and play the puppy dog. so im sure they spill the beans pretty quick.

You don't think that's a reaction toward how -- seemingly, and as being reported -- Japanese women are going ga-ga (not to be confused with the film distribution company ) over Korean men nowadays (which is probably due to Japan's growing interest in the K-drama)?

It's hard, almost impossible to generalize the way a culture would confess their love.
I think when it all comes down to it, it depends on the individual.

I agree. People in Japan are diverse in their personalities just like everyplace. For some it easy easy to confess their love others are very shy. Sounds like everywhere else to me. I think with age and experience your ability to confess your love changes greatly also. Just my 2 cents.
