Yes pretty much. During the attack on inheavysyrup there absolutely nothing that I could do at the server level, I had lots of technical help that only delayed the attacks until they increased it. I was told if I tried to get help at the hardware switch level that they'll start attacking that instead which would bring down a whole lot more servers.
This time though, I don't think it is an attack as its sporadic and dispersed. A real attack would bring the server down and keep it down a long time. It may be just a case that we've outgrown the current entry level server that we have and it can't cope with both jdorama.com and d-addicts.com forums. If jdorama.com could move to the other server it would be good for d-addicts.com as I get to keep the forum and tracker seperate like I always intend to but if not then I can move d-addicts.com. The first option is good for me, the 2nd is no big deal so either way we will hopefully solve this problem within the week.
For the meanwhile I've turned off a high traffic script that should see better performance until we make the move.
