I wasn't really interested in this WBC thing until I saw how Japan got screwed in their game against the U.S. Now, it's "Nippon ganbarre, yo!!!"
On a much sadder note, Dwight Gooden held without bail for violating his probation. What a waste,,, Shake Head

South Korea defeated Japan 2-1 Sad and remained unbeaten in the tournament. The loss by Japan kept the USA team alive and could enter the semis Sweat .

Uhmm......even if they lose to Mexico, they will definitely move on to the semis because in case of a tie in the standings, the team who will advance to the semis will be decided by stats (RA/9, ERA, and AVG) Sweat . In my opinion, there should be a tie-breaking game instead of looking at the stats Shake Head .

Yeah, it's all because of their win against Japan Shake Head .

Well, I guess that's one of the benefits of having a homecourt advantage Beaten .

Justice served Beaten . Wow, that's a big turn-around. By looking at the stats yesterday, I wasn't expecting Japan to enter the semis. The game against Mexico must have changed everything Sweat . Well anyway, it's good that Japan entered the semis w00t! . At least now I have a reason to keep watching this tournament hehe .

lol... does anybody here rooting for Japan actually like or follow baseball (NPB or MLB or what-not)? or are you guys just a buncha Bob Davidsons (the umpire making the controversial calls and overrulings to give Team USA an unfair advantage)...

Congratulations to Team Japan for advancing to the Finals. Uehara Koji pitched amazingly with survival on the line.

Also congratulations to Korea for going 6-1 in the tournament and having one of the best showing of fans on their side of the tourney (prolly tied with Mexico). The fans were cheering loudly and still flashing signs and cheering on-camera for Korea when they were down 0-6 late in the game, up to the very end! I find it VERY hard to see Americans do that (even though, Team USA *did* play their heart out and all the controversy surrounding their games should be blamed at Bob Davidson). It was classy to see Team Korea stay on the field to bow and pay respects to their fans even after they lost.

Man, I love the WBC... I hope one day it becomes bigger than the World Series... cuz it really is the *real* World Series... and brings alot more heart, passion, and pride back to the game than records and dollar signs.

Yeah, Uehara did a good job Thumbsup . Not to mention the superb 7th inning, making 5 of their 6 runs in that period Applaud . Their last assignment, Cuba. The dream matchup for the gold medal match in Athens Olympics has come to reality Big Grin .

Go back through this thread and see who's made most of the posts and that will answer your question! Beat You
Omedeto Team Japan Applaud It took them a game and a half to figure out Korea's pitching, but once they did, the floodgates opened. Victory! Peace!
