That seven-run 2nd inning did the trick. Mr Green

It started to look like a football score, heck at 14-7 it was a football score. Shake Head

Dodgers take the rubber game, 5-2, from the Giants.

On to San Diego with a four game lead in the West. Thumbsup

Now remind me how this works. Even though the trade happened after the trading deadline, would he still get a chance to play in the playoffs?

Felipe Alou is to old and senile. I hope Sabean goes too. Big mistake letting Colleti go to the Dodgers. Here are my choices to be the next Giants Manager.

1. Orel Hershiser ( I hope its him he's a winner)
2. Ron Woutus
3. Dave Righetti
4. Bob Brenly
5. Robby Thompson

Since he's on the roster before Sept.1 I would say yes. That's when they can expand the roster to 40 players.

I see. So what's with the hoopla of the trade deadline when trades can occur after the date?

Technically, it's not a trade, it's a "waiver" deal. The D'Backs put Green on waivers which means every team has a shot at him, in order of teams with worst record getting to pick first. However, they're is usually an "agreement" between the GM's not to pick a player that some other team wants. If they did, then the Mets GM would screw it up for that team when they wanted to pickup somebody else.
