Preliminary reports say that Yankees pitcher, Cory Lidle, was the pilot of the plane that struck New York earlier today.
Yes the news is very sad! He had also played for the NY Mets.
Cory Fulton Lidle (March 22, 1972 – October 11, 2006) was an American right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball. He played for seven different teams in his nine-season career, last playing for the New York Yankees. Only four days after the team's 2006 season ended, the 34-year-old Lidle was killed when the personal aircraft he was piloting crashed into a residential building in New York City.

Tigers beat A's 3-0, go up 3-0 in series. The only reason I'm leaning towards the Tigers is because I couldn't bear to watch that obnoxious jerk Milton Bradley in the world series.
BURBANK, Calif. - A private jet, carrying Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez and six others, overran a runway at Bob Hope Airport on Friday and was brought to a halt by an arresting system.
gI spoke to Alex. Hefs fine,h agent Scott Boras said.
None of the seven people aboard were injured, federal officials said.

Mets closer (more like loser) Billy Wagner almost blows the game, giving up two runs in the top of the ninth...
I always like to see Japanese players do well, but that damn Taguchi picked one hell of a time to do his Barry Bonds imitation, 3 at bats, 2 home runs and a double

Makes you wonder why LaRussa hasn't made him a starter.

The weather here should be clear for tonight's game #7 between the Mets and the Cards. They were predicting showers but now they are saying that the rain should start after the game is over.

Yeah, as much as I don't like the American League, Tony LaRussa suffers from "Bill Walsh disease" - "Yes, I'm a genius, if you don't think so, just ask me" - so I'm going with the Tigers too.
