The Rays could still pull a RedSox ... come all the way back and then falter in Game 7.

After I saw the Phillies pitcher get a homerun, I had to turn it off Shake Head I wasn't expecting it would end that bad. What a joke!

They were lucky to tie it up: I thought they were gonna call the game and give it to the Phils... That would've been lame, but within the rules. Sweat

A good omen for the Rays?

Let's hope so. Fingers crossed Fingers crossed Fingers crossed

That's what I thought until Selig said he changed the rule before the game to not call the game unless all 9 innings were played. If the Phils won that way, I would be pissed.

      So would the Rays. Sweat

I wonder how many players/spectators will get sick after sitting through that yesterday: 39F and a driving rain. bleh

There's always some hot-stove baseball news to look forward to ... like what'll happen to Manny?? Looks like he's gonna get some ARod-esque money and probably leaving the Dodgers for good. Sweat

I guess that'll be the biggest baseball story until next spring training ..... Doh!

I'm sure that miscreant Steinbrenner will pry open his wallet and give Manny whatever he wants, continuing that age-old tradition of BoSox players going over to the Yanks: Ruth, Boggs, Clemens, Damon, etc... Shake Head

I like when Palin was campaigning in Pittsburg, PA, where she was recognizing the win by the Phillies and she got booed. I'm glad she can see Russia from Alaska because when it comes to American geography she's apparently challenged.

It's not just geography... She's in Forrest Gump territory.

Perhaps she, understandably, forgot that Pittsburgh even had its own pro baseball team .... considering how awful and irrelevant the Pirates have been for years. I'd figure the only sports Palin knows about are hockey and curling. rofl

A Phillies comment probably was stupid, among other statements, on her part ... but at least she didn't claim to "root" for the Phillies like bandwagoner Obama did. Shake Head
