Yesterday was not a particularly good day for Japanese pitchers.

Well, it was okay for Darvish, he went 8 innings, gave up 2 hits, 2 runs (1 earned) but got no decision as the Rangers beat Tampa Bay in 10 innings.

Hisashi Iwakuma went 3 2/3, gave up 6 hits, 5 runs (4 earned). The A's beat the M's 6-1, but Iwakuma's record is still not bad at 6-4.

And, Dice-K was Dice-K. An inning and 1/3, 5 hits, 5 runs all earned. Toronto beat the Sox 9-2. We may have seen the last of Dice-K in a Red Sox uniform.

Dodgers lose again, 2-1, to the Cards.

Dodgers have doled out all that money for Gonzalez, et al, and are getting nothing in return. bleh

It's the Carl Crawford syndrome. Beaten

The Sox recently played the Yankees and how excited was Mike Francesa about this series.

Yesterday had two Japanese pitchers facing off in the Rangers/Mariners game, Darvish vs. Iwakuma.

Rangers won 9-3 but it was a 2-1 game when Iwakuma was pulled in the 6th. Darvish struck out 9 to run his season total to 205. The last rookie to strike out over 200 in a season was, , , wait for it, , , Dice-K in 2007 when he struck out 201!!

Speaking of Dice-K, he got the start against Toronto. I guess Bobby V figures it can't get any worse. Dice-K went 5 1/3, 3 hits, 4 earned runs, walked 3 and struck out 5 but got no decision as the Sox won 8-5.

Dodgers are just about out of the playoff hunt... After that great start, they've crashed and burned. Sad

Meanwhile, Milwaukee is 15-4 over their last 19 games. They now trail the Cardinals by only 2 1/2 for the last wild card spot. Aoki's current hitting streak is at 10 games. Applaud

It looks like Ichiro has adjusted to pinstripes. He's 10-for-16 over his last four games with a home run, 5 runs scored, 4 rbis, and 4 stolen bases. HOT!

And last night Darvish got his 16th win (most by any Japanese pitcher in their first year in the majors) as the Rangers beat the Halos 3-1. Victory! Peace!
