Hi Guest,

"MY MARRIAGE" is a family comedy dorama.
Starring : Vivian Hsu, Nakamura Shunsuke, Shima Iwashita, and one of the guest star is Noriko Sakai.
The Japanese title for this show is : "HONKE NO YOME"

The story : Nozomi (Vivian Hsu), a Taiwanese-Japanese raised around the world, and Shinji (Nakamura Shunsuke), a Japanese businessman in Taipei, meet, fall in love and marry, they seem to have an ideal lifestyle. Living in an upscale Taipei flat, both are on good career tracks, and enjoy their free time together until... one day, Shinji is summoned home to Japan to take over as head of the household. Unable to resist his familial demands, he agrees to give up his job, return to the countryside, and fulfill the duties his grandmother (Shima Iwashita) requests. Unfortunately, Nozomi never expected such a thing to happen, and she is further shocked to discover that his family, and his grandmother in particular, is not warm and welcoming to her. In fact, it is a trial by fire for her to learn the customs and lifestyle of a feudal Japanese home and deal with the old matriarch who refuses any change, demanding that others comply with the traditions of her home. Nozomi must face these demands, and the strain on her marriage and career, or follow her own mother's advice to "get out of that house now!"

If you look for a heartwarming, funny, light comedy, it's the show for you. The casts are doing good & funny performances.

About "Le Parfum de la Jalousie", from what I heard, it's having kinda' soap-opera theme. (not yet watched though). It's about how "jealousy" is the source of every actions done by the characters in that story.

On my marriage:

This reminded me of the earlier show Muko-Dono/Son in Law. This is my first Viian show and her performance is very good. Even though rating is not high, this is a must see for the season. (My Rating 8 Stars)

I found a review on the net about "Le Parfum de la Jalousie" :

I think "Le Parfum de la Jaolusie" is a serious drama story. Saki (Kawahara Ayako, I think) and Minori (Honjou Manami) attended the same high school. Saki was dating a guy (Ito Hideaki) and he broke up with her because he wanted to date Minori. Ever since then, Saki felt jealousy towards Minori. But, when Minori was about to get married to him, he broke off the engagement because she became so jealous of anyone he associated with and never trusted him. Years later, Saki is married and is a successful career woman. Minori is an aroma-therapist and is dating Tetsushi. They reunite again when they all become involved in a business project. Saki still feels jealousy towards Minori and suspects that her current husband will have an affair with her. Saki plans a future revenge on Minori to ease her jealousy.

This story is basically one big soap opera and shows how jealousy controls a person's actions. I didn't care so much for the cast or the acting. The story was predictable at times, but it was still strong enough to keep me interested. The soundtrack was really good as well too.

My Marriage (Honke no Yome)

Cast: Hsu Vivian, Nakamura Shunsuke

Story: (Romantic/Comedy)
This is a story of a Girl from Taiwan who got married to the second son of a old fashioned Japanese family. After the wedding, they moved back to the country side of Japan and she found many cultural differences and she has to learn to adjust...

Review:(8 Stars)
This reminded me of another earlier show Muko-Dono/Son in Law. but not as good! This is my first Viian's Japanese drama show and her performance is very good. There are plenty of fun and touching moments. Even though rating is not high, this is a must see for the season.

My Marriage also has other titles like :

"Daughter In Law", "The Family Bride" (this one is the official title from the TV network).

This is the website link for some infos regarding "My Marriage" (in English) :

http://www.ytv.co.jp/english/indexprogramnews.html

My personal opinion :
I LOVE THIS SHOW !! ^-^
It's a light show but contains some touching and heartwarming moments.
It's a funny (comical) family comedy dorama with other variety themes. ^^

I agreed. This is one of my favorites too. It really shows the cultural differences in a subtle and touching way. Vivian H. was great!

Have you seen Vivian H's earlier work?

I think she's probably the best of all the cross-over actress. i.e. Kelly Chen, Faye Wong etc. She has that cute/adorable look that is perfect for the part!

I've only seen one of Vivian's early movie.
I think it's a Taiwanese teenage movie. I don't know the title but she played alongside the "boyish" actor, Jimmy Lin.
Unfortunatelly, Vivian didn't act quite good on that movie (It even makes me wonder, "uughh,..this girl is so stiff and expressionless ^-^ ")
That's why it's a great surprise for me that her acting on "My Marriage" ("Honke No Yome") is AWESOME. I guess she improves so much on the acting dept. since that teenage movie. *LOL*
