I was watching RYOMADEN with subs on TV but lately I have been forgetting and missing an episode here and there. It does not upset me and normally I hate missing stuff. I think it is dragging and considering the short and exciting life this man had they are making it seem slow and dull. It must have been a scary time for him and his comings and goings would have been pretty dicey at times.
Certainly the Shinsengumi were on the lookout for him. I thought they dwelt much too long on the imprisonment and torture of his two friends.
I guess this version of his early life was pretty accurate and I don't think we can say that about his appearances in ATSUHIME and JIN.
I always wondered how he got to see Atsu anyway. Wasn't it only the Emperor who was allowed in the women's part of the palace??? Of course Atsu was a tough woman in real life and she was politically minded so maybe she could ask to see people when she so wished.
I liked 'Atsuhime' as a drama but the actress was much too pretty and slight in character for the real woman.
Just realised I got off the subject of ratings with a vengeance. Please move this post if possible and set it where moderator thinks fit. Sorry.Time I went to bed.

"Gegege no Nyoubou" ends with strong ratings
Mon, September 27, 2010 (10:11am EDT)
NHK's morning drama series "Gegege no Nyoubou" aired its final episode on September 25. Despite having the lowest-rated first episode ever for an NHK Asadora (14.8%), the show's ratings improved greatly during its six-month broadcast run, resulting in a strong overall average of 18.6% in the Kanto area (15.9% in Kansai).
The last episode achieved a 23.6% rating in the Kanto region, the highest of the entire series. In the Kansai region, it achieved 17.9%. Despite the poor start, the show has consistently been reaching over 20% ratings during the past several weeks. The 18.6% series average is the highest since "Dondo Bare" in 2007.
"Gegege no Nyoubou" starred Nao Matsushita as the wife of "Gegege no Kitaro" mangaka Shigeru Mizuki, while Osamu Mukai played Mizuki himself.

"Teppan" premieres at 18.2%
Tue, September 28, 2010 (9:50am EDT)
NHK's new Asadora series "Teppan" is off to a promising start. The first episode, which aired on Monday, got an average rating of 18.2% in the Kanto region, and 13.1% in the Kansai region.
Based on the Kanto numbers, this is the highest-rated premiere of an Asadora since "Imotako Nankin" (20.3%) in 2006. However, that series ended up doing poorly overall, as ratings fell and resulted in a series average of 16.8%. By contrast, "Gegege no Nyoubou," which ended last week, started out with a record low of 14.8% but built a strong audience to finish with an 18.6% series average.
"Teppan" stars Miori Takimoto as a young woman struggling to open an okonomiyaki restaurant.
