Another one I wanna watch is Slow Dance. Unfortunately there's no sub and I don't really understand a thing. -.-"

Densha Otoko is nice. It's kinda cheesy at times (watch the 2nd ep first few mins) but overall it's quite good. As i mentioned earlier, it's the male lead that irritates the heck out of me... other than that, it's all good.

Haven't watched Slow Dance yet. Been too busy and since it's not one of those I was anticipating for, shall wait till when I have more time...

My japanese isn't that good too. But sufficient to watch some dramas. Mostly dramas that dun have that complex themes. Other than that, I'm lost. Sweat

Yeah, m|rA|, I'd just spotted Last Quarter's Comics at shops about a month ago. I think I might be getting it when I have the money to, haha

That's good. I recommend it. The story's abit confusing at times but since you've watched the movie, you should be able to get the hang of it faster. If you like the manga, you could try another Yazawa Ai manga called NANA. The movie will be out in Sept (in Japan) this year. Cast include Nakashima Mika, Miyazaki Aoi, Narimiya Hiroki, Matsuda Ryuhei, Hiraoka Yuuta, Takayama Tetsuji among others.

Hey m|rA|.

Yuppie, I know about this movie called NANA. I'd seen this serie of comics at Comics Connection, around few years back. I did not know what was the story about though

I knew that Nakashima Mika is featured in this show, but I didn't know that Narimiya Hiroki is in there too!!! Wow... This is the second time in Yazawa Ai's film? hahaha, so I see w00t!

I wish they would broadcast jp dramas that are more famous (sorry for being bias but... Beaten) like they used to during the japan fever. Shows like Love generation, Hero, Waterboys etc. Now the shows are kind of like (huh?) type of shows. But like you said, if the storyline is nice, why not watch it! Big Grin Btw, where did you catch Stand up!! ?

Hey sashimi!

I saw this attractive cover of a VCD box at Poh Kim, which is featuring Nino and YamaP! So I looked at the storyline and found it really interesting. I like JDramas that have actors or actresses of younger age, like in between 15plus to early 20s. Since Stand Up!! 's actors and actresses are so young and famous, I'd decided to buy since it cost me only $16.90, which is supposed to be $19.90, haha, becos they having a sale w00t!

I guess they don't show so many Japanese dramas on TV these days partly due to the fact or maybe 'broadcasted' fact that Korean dramas are doing much better. I've noticed more Korean films on air than Japanese these days...

One point of time there were so many Japanese dramas being aired until that issue of whether J Dramas can be imported into SG... then they all started declining in frequency le. -.-"

Maybe someone ought to start an online petition just like the NKF one. =X =X =X

@Ling79

hi ling, you can read some comments here:

http://www.jdorama.com/drama.520.htm

i think it s not bad, if you view it from a comedy jdorama angle. i mean just dun get too serious abt the acting and story. just laugh over it. if you are looking for decent one, i think style is not up to quality. my sister doesnt like but she said she will watch the first episode to support jdorama in singapore. me too cuz i wan to see for myself izzit worth watching. so minna san, if u have time, why not switch to watch at least 15 mins before giving it a death sentence. hehe

p.s: i dun quite like the male lead too. ^5 w00t!

@Fuwari

wad is the nkf petition abt? btw im happy that donation had to stop, i think more den 2 shows are too much!! everyday it s all abt the nkf commercial, im sick of it! Beaten Beaten

korean dramas are more den jdoramas now. and once they start to air a kdrama, it will last very long becuz, as u know, kdramas has definitely more than 12 episodes!!!! argh! NOT FAIR!!! Mad

I think they show less Jdramas on tv nowadays because now it's more of the Korean craze. Also I think that the broadcasting rights to korean dramas are cheaper than that of Japan's. Therefore leading to less Jdrama on tv. I find 7.30 in the evening is a bad time for broadcasting coz usually i come back ard there and so will miss the first part. Wished they returned to the old programming of Jdramas on Thurs nights.

Hey, thanks! ^_^ Hope I can 'catch' it on time, its really a bad timing since its a timing for the whole family to watch TV ><

Btw, the male lead used to host the NHK, Popjam and at 1st impression, I dun see his attractiveness..probably he is cheeky but then I dun understand Japanese... Sweat

I dun see why Korean dramas are so appealing! U Suck They are so draggy and so teary! I didn't watch a single K-drama, really. XD erm except for some Korean movies, at least its only a 2-hr show.

Yeah. Totally agreed. I can't really stomach Korean Dramas. I find them a bit too slow for my liking. Even so, its so teary... its like crying without a purpose. =X

So far I've been touched by 'Be With You', and have laughed at that drama with the group of ladies working in the basement. Forgot the title already... Bleah

Going to try to watch 'Crying Out Love In The Centre Of The World' drama series soon. Now busy DLing PRIDE and other animes. Bleah

I dun really watch Korean dramas but there's this drama that I enjoyed quite abit called 'Little Bride'. I think Korean comedies are ok. It's just the more 'sobby' kinds like 'Winter Sonata' that turns me off.

I am now watching Bai Se Ju Ta (dunno wat is called in Japanese) and its so heavy and dark! >< I must watch it when I am in a good mood else I will get depressed so easily..

and of cos, PRIDE is a must watch! Dancing

Oh yes, I have been touched by 'Be with you' too! The female lead of PRIDE! =D

Tonight, I am watching 'Crying Out Love In The Centre Of The World' movie!! and I even wanted to buy the drama version at S$9! But heck, the promotion ended quite fast. Grumble

Next, I am going to buy Engine. Hope I can go to Taiwan soon and grab more j-dorama goodies!! w00t!
