I can't remember when the Warriors were last above .500 this late in the season. Sweat And...they're currently 7th in the Pacific. Is it too early to wish for the playoffs?

Having them play .600, .700 ball would be asking too much. I just want them in the playoffs. If they can win the championship, that would be a shocking surprise.

Oh man our defense is horrible. I've pretty much watched every single televised game of them this year and I'm really starting realize we have a very bad team. Maybe that or my expectations are increasing. We don't play defense well at all and our best defender just might be Jason Richardson who's slightly better than avg at best. Foyle is a nice presence inside but a liability on offense and he can't catch still! Our offense is made up of isolations to JRich or Murph or many many 3 pointers or long jump shots. Our best play is when Baron drives the lane and tries to create but the guy's human and he doesn't have the energey to do that every trip down and lately it seems like he doesn't want to get hammered while attacking the rim. It just seems like the W's offense is so stagnant and we're not running good enough plays in the half court set. I was really hoping Mullin could get a deal for Artest to shake things up. That or get a big man for us Beaten

i haven't watch much warriors games this year, maybe a couple, the last one made me almost turn it off, ok, j/k but i was disappointed at their lack of hunger for the home win, they were pathetic in the first half in the game and fell behind so much they couldn't come back against the Pacers in the home loss.
in analyzing their game, it is obvious, they lack an interior defense and their offense game is very disorganized and they lack a consistant post up player. They cannot play an inside outside game, which would help put pressure on the opposing teams. A deal to land Artest, might be good for them, and what they need. They need a better defender and someone who can score, but he is a gambe with his personality and history. They just need to trade some players and improve in several areas. Build around J. Rich, and B. Davis, and maybe Dunleavy and Derek Fisher.

With the Warriors, they seem to be living and dying by the 3. I think they are lacking consistency. One game, they are hammering the ball into the paint and allowing Foyle to score the easy bucket. Yet they are throwing up lots of 3-point shots. When they hit, it's money. But you can't rely on the 3. Especially when you cannot rebound your misses. Sometimes they shoot and then they immediately head for the backcourt, assuming the miss. Head for the basket guys!

what they need is better ball movement, better screens, and more structure, they have no post up player where they can put the ball inside-out, and kick it out for the open three...

But, on the good side, they are 1 game above .500 and considering it's after the New Year, that's not too shabby.

....well, let's see how they do in the coming weeks.
i just hope they can get Artest, even how he is, personalitywise, he is a good defender/player.

I've heard rumors of the Ws dangling the Pietrus carrot, but who knows? All I know is Artest better not be Artest if he comes over here.

i think the warriors lack toughness, and Artest can bring that over, minus all the punching and bad mouthing. We will just have to wait and see how the trade goes, if it does happen btw the warriors and pacers.

I actually hope they don't trade Pietrus because when he's healthy, he's a huge spark plug off the bench. It's too bad Mullin gave Dunleavy the extension which makes him almost untradable now. Not that I don't Dunleavy, but that guy has to grow some guts. He's too passive and we need a 4th scorer.

I read somewhere that the Warriors assured Murphy's agent that he wasn't on the trading block. Not sure if it's true...

Trading Murph is kinda tough too since his contract gets BIG in a year or 2. I like Murph though since he's got a nice outside shot and can hit the 3. He can take it strong to the hoop too. Only knock on him is that he needs to learn a post up game but he's tough and I like that.

yeah, in that game i was watching him, he scored well, and provided good rebounding and has a good game, but what other option do the warrior have, you have adonal foyle, and the other rookie guy, but i thought that guy played very well, and will be good for the future of the warriors.

i like artest, but not really sure if they will get him now, since i haven't heard anything about the trade lately...but artest will add more to their interior defense and provide a power forward/small forward player with good offense. They also need a good post up player/shot blocker. They have good guards in B. Davis, Fisher, and good shooting guard with J.Rich, their frontline is where they need more work, Murphy is ok, and Dunleavy, and that rookie ctr with long arms, but they are missing toughness, as my point is, Artest can bring that, and maybe another big man, like Kurt Thomas type player(although he is not available, just an example) not sure who they can trade for then. They need more structure in their offense, less threes, more drive in, draw the foul by penetrators like b. davis/j. rich, and better, post up consistant player, and a big man that can run the break and defend the paint and cause opponents problems on their offense like (Bruce Bowen-example). That is my opinion, if they can get some of these to fill in their gaps, they will be a team tougher to beat, and defensively shut down other teams.

Mihm is like a 21st century Kurt Rambis: more fouls than points. Shake Head

Okay, they won, but a little more balance would be nice, 'cause once they lose with Kobe scoring all those points the finger pointing will start all over again...
