Celts continue to struggle on the offensive end.
Don't think anyone thought J O'Neal still had this much basketball left in him. Shocked

What about the other O'Neal? Bleah

Danny Ainge deserves to get savaged for making that deal.

Yeah, traded Perkins for 2 guys, Kristic and Green who don't get much playing time, Crazy luckily they can get away playing with a small lineup against the Knicks but after this round they could be in trouble. Sweat

Hate to admit it but the Heat for the last month or so have been on quite a roll, perhaps playing better than anyone else, Shameful Cry almost all star players have had an injury which has kept them out a while, James never has, think he's due for one...soon. Naughty

I guess they flipped their switch.

Let's hope the Sixers will give them a much better fight in Philly. Fingers crossed

Not much fight from Philly in tonight's game, perhaps though if the Heat sweep and it takes the Celts 6 or so games to win their series that break will cool them down a bit. Shake Head
Pacers once agin giving the Bulls a good fight though, up by 2 with about 8 minutes to go, 20 TOs for the Bulls, that'll keep the other team in the game regardless of who it is. Doh!

Here's some good news for the Lakers. Smile

Lakersf Lamar Odom wins Sixth Man award from NBA

LOS ANGELES (AP)—Lakers forward Lamar Odom(notes) won the NBAfs Sixth Man award on Tuesday as the leaguefs top reserve.

Odom averaged 14.4 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3 assists per game this season while playing in every game for the Lakers. Odom was a starter for long stretches of the season while center Andrew Bynum(notes) was sidelined with injuries, but also came off the bench 47 times.

gIfm very happy for him,h Kobe Bryant(notes) said after the Lakersf workout Tuesday. gItfs extremely well-deserved.h

Odom is the first Lakers player to win the award, which began in 1983. Atlantafs Jamal Crawford(notes) won it last season.

Odom received 96 of 117 first-place votes from the media panel, easily outdistancing Dallas guard Jason Terry(notes), who finished a distant second with 244 total points to Odomfs 513. Philadelphiafs Thaddeus Young(notes) was third with 76 points, and Bostonfs Glen Davis(notes) finished fourth with 75.

Crawford received five first-place votes while finishing fifth, and Philadelphiafs Lou Williams received a single first-place vote.

Odom was a starter during his first nine NBA seasons with the Clippers, Heat and Lakers, but moved primarily to a reserve role during the 2008-09 season. The Lakers won the NBA championship that year and the next, with Odom coming off the bench for all but five of Los Angelesf 46 playoff games.

Odom also played for the U.S. national team at last summerfs world championships.

gItfs good recognition of a player that has really filled a role for us the last couple of years,h said Lakers coach Phil Jackson, who advocated Odom for his first All-Star berth after his outstanding start to the current season. gTo be named to the USA team was really big for him, and to start on that team was important.h

Although Odom comes off the bench, hefs a vital member of Los Angelesf rotation. He struggled in the Lakersf playoff-opening loss to New Orleans on Sunday, managing just 10 points and one rebound in nearly 31 minutes of play.

Odomfs wife, reality-TV star Khloe Kardashian, and his mother-in-law attended the award news conference in a hotel ballroom near the Lakersf Westside training complex. Odom and Kardashian starred in a reality series about their married life that was filmed down the stretch of the regular season and is currently airing on the E! network.

Celts took a 2-0 series lead, in another close game. With Billups & Stoudemire out it turned into the Carmelo show. "Melo" was hitting every shot. Sweat

^^ That's right, no moral victories count in the win column, he really wasn't hitting his shots, Shake Head took 30(!) shots and only hit 14, what it was that kept the Knicks in the game was their offensive rebounds, had 20 of them, really no excuse for that against such a small lineup, but it's still a 2-0 lead for them though you wonder if they have this much trouble against the Knicks what are they going to do against the Heat? Beaten

It's about matchups and the Celts obviously match up with the Heat well, even though they did get routed in their last meeting.

And it would be a tough series for me to root for either team. bleh

Yeah, the matchups are tougher plus the Heat are peaking. Don't think it would be too hard to find someone to root for, sometimes it comes down to who would you rather not see advance, Naughty plus the current Celts-Lakers rosters are tied at one finals victory for each, don't they need a rubber match? Sweat

Yeah, but it's a long ways away... And neither team is inspiring a lot of confidence at the moment. Sweat

Right about that but I guess there's 2 ways of looking at :
1) They're working ot the kinks against an inferior opponent or
2) They're just not as good as they were the last few seasons
not sure which is right, only time will tell. Sweat

With Boston, it's their health. Without Shaq and without Kendrick Perkins, they really don't have a defensive presense inside. As for the Lakers, although they beat New Orleans 4 times in the regular season, I think New Orleans is a dangerous match-up for them. Yes the Lakers have the huge size advantage, but New Orleans has a big advantage at point guard. I love Derek Fisher but at 37 he just can't keep up with the league's best point guards like he use to.

Lakers win, 87-78, over the Hornets.

Gasol has another crappy game: eight points, five rebounds... And Kobe only scores 11. Sweat

But a win is a win.
