@Tu, enjoy the Shinsemgumi dinner...have a good one
thanks for the msg. it was a great dinner...truth be told that was the first time i had yakitori at shinsengumi...i was impressed and very satisfied with the food.....now i know why krim was praising the yakitori there as compared to other joints...the chicken there is incredibly juicy! it had a very boisterous enviroment...dayem even though we got there at 7pm we still had to wait almost an hour to be seated!
food is bombay though....i think for food and environment though i still give the edge to Honda-ya in Tustin...that place reminds me the most of Japan.....nonetheless Shinsengumi was dayem tasty. highly recommended.

a bustling place.....honto ni nigiyaka na mise.
that's good, you had a good dinner with friends...
i had dinner a few weeks ago at Honda-ya, i had the salted salmon, chicken ponzo combo dinner, and it is filling. They have excellent food, and would recommend it to others.
I also had the yakitori at Shinsengumi once, but i am going there for lunch today, i just love their ramen, oishii
1 hr waits are not uncommon, on fri/sat, even other days could still be a wait...
next to Daikokuya ramen, Shinsengumi is probably the next best one, in my opinion.

wassup, dad? ^_^ yeah it was my first time at that particular restaurant...attempted to eat there a few months ago and we ended up waiting for 1 hour and 15 minutes before we gave up and went to another yakitori place.
this time as i mentioned we didn't have to wait as long, thankfully....but now i know why it's so popular!

That will make a nice change Currently when we have a rice dish, she refuses to eat the accompanying meat dish and instead eats cheese, devon and tomato sauce with the rice very odd. Still, she's only 11.

maybe your well-informed kid has been watching the news and got wind of the mad cow disease
in any event, next time my friend and i want to eat at the restaurant adjacent to the yakitori-ya, it's a Chanko-ya (chanko nabe restaurant). you have to make reservations though because of the preparation necessary to make the food.

Mebbe she's gonna become a vegetarian. I was a veggie... for about 40 days.
Still, I'm not a big meat-eater like the rest of my family. Like, I'd rather eat a potato than a chunk of meat. >>shrug<< _________________

I guess Shinsengumi in OC doesnt give out their free Oolong tea, they offer ice water instead, nonetheless, their Hakata Pork Ramen, 1/2 serrving Fried Rice for $7.75 was good enough for me....Oishii desu!
