I prefer miso with tofu and seaweed.
And then, let's see....
I' ll get gyoza, katsudon, assorted tempura and of course some maki and sushi.
hmmm, i'm getting hungry even though i just ate. hehehe _________________

Miso is a soybean paste that is made by mixing cooked soybeans, salt, a grain (usually barley or rice), and a starter (fermenting agent) called koji. The different types are usually classified by color, flavor, and the ingredients.
One of the better ones that I've had was where I stopped for asameshi in Shinjuku. It just had a trace of miso, but had tofu, seaweed, and baby clams. Definitely hit the spot when I was there in December.

Really? You drink it as if it were tea. Or coffee for that matter...............
I just drink it whenever I have a meal, or when the "wife" makes it for me!

Yeah... now that you mentioned it. ^^; Well, I can't drink coffee or tea at night coz instead of staying awake, I go to sleep... Not very good when you're trying to burn the midnight oil...

Yoshinoya chain? never heard of that one. The japanese fastfood i've tried before is tokyo-tokyo.
Anyway, the best place to eat japanese food is in a japanese buffet restaurant... ahh. yum...yum... hehehe
Some of these restaurants are a bit expensive though so better make sure you check around. _________________
