Man To Eat 25,000th Big Mac
05/16/11 06:14 PM ET
Wisconsin-based Don Gorske plans to eat his 25,000th Big Mac on May 17, 2011, 39 years after his first Big Mac bite on May 17, 1972.
He averages two Big Macs per day and has 10,000 Big Mac cartons still in his possession. He keeps two Big Macs in his luggage in case he cannot find a McDonaldfs when he travels. Gorske believes he has drank over 200,000 Cokes along with his burgers.
Gorske's wife Mary has convinced him to consume McDonald's parfaits since he does not take any vitamins and subsists mostly on Big Macs (we're a bit dubious of this suggestion as McDonald's parfaits have 21 grams of sugar per serving).
One Big Mac serving has 540 calories and 29 grams of fat. So, in total, Gorske has consumed about 13,500,000 total calories and 725,000 grams of fat from Big Macs.

Yikes!
I do not know what's more remarkable...the fact that he still lives or the fact that this poor sap has resigned himself to a life of eating sh*t food in the disillusioned belief he's eating something good.
You have one life to live, to think you would waste it eating the same fuggin' crap everyday.

Surprisingly, the guy's cholesterol level is only 156... Must be his only meal of the entire day.

That is suprising, however I don't totally buy into the mainstream beliefs regarding cholesterol that it is bad...that aside, most of the cholesterol in your body is made by the liver and does not come from food. Having said that, some people are genetically predisposed to having high cholesterol whereas others are not.

Speaking of okonomiyaki, a new spot for the Japanese street food is preparing to open on Sawtelle in the space recently vacated by by Ramen Kinchans. The restaurant is called Gottsui, which is also the name of a Japanese chain specializing in a big selection of okonomiyaki, although a connection is yet to be established. Currently, the restaurant promises to specialize in teppanyaki griddle cooking, including several varieties of okonomiyaki, which can be found at West L.A.'s Raku, but not too often on this saturated street. It's a long-shot that this one will make the food crowd change allegiances from GaJa, but hopefully we'll get the opportunity to find out when Gottsui opens its doors in June.
Gottsui, 2119 Sawtelle Blvd. West Los Angeles. 310-478-0521.

Haha, as long as you enjoyed yourself....
Well truth be told the very last time I went was on March 26...during a self-imposed period of abstinence... So I'm not always ripped, contrary to popular belief. I like to rein (sp?) it in every so often to keep myself from indulging in the booze too much.
I went that time for a friend's birthday, the other friends in my party had never been and they all seemed to enjoy it, although they are not necessarily the most adventurous people when it comes to eats. Hehe.
Since $1,000 bagels and ice cream sundaes with gold leaves were already in existence, obviously it's time for jelly beans to get some bling as well.
Jelly Belly founder David Klein has partnered with Leaf Brands to unveil the gold leaf-coated "Beyond Gourmet Jelly Beans" which are sold in crystal jars (natch) and claim inspiration from "food deconstructionists" José Andrés and Ferran Adrià.
Leaf Brands describes the beans as "...literally an exotic trip around the world though the sense of taste via never-before-tasted jelly bean flavors... Imagine creating a Thai Lemongrass Curry or an Indian Mango Chutney dish by constructing complex dishes in your mouth, and giving it an explosion of taste that hits all your senses."
Sounds exciting, but for a bit more than $500, one can almost take a literal exotic trip. Or, for less than $10, one can get a perfectly tasty -- and filling -- curry or chutney.

Insanity. Imagine how many memorable meals 500 dollars could buy you!
