Gotta love this quote from a TIME magazine article I just read re: salt:
"The country-fried-steak dinner at Denny's has more than 3,600 mg of sodium, roughly the equivalent of 24 strips of bacon. Seriously? I think we can be trained to get by with 15 or 20."
Does playing Angry Birds really rouse your appetite for eggs?
If so, you'll like Rovio's latest plan: the company behind Angry Birds has decided to self-publish a family cookbook filled with egg recipes, both as a book and as an app. The news was announced at the Open Mobile Summit in London, Mashable reports. By self-publishing Rovio will capture 90 percent of the sales on the book.
The popular game, which features furious red fowl catapulting themselves at dastardly green swine, just hit the 200 million download mark.
While it seems like a peculiar gambit, the huge success of Angry Birds, not just as a game, but spun out into numerous different franchises, makes it entirely possible that such a cookbook could garner significant sales. The company sells t-shirts, toys, keychains, and other accessories, and will soon have its own animated TV series and board game.
The move marks Rovio's bid to bring Angry Birds from being just a mobile game to being an entertainment brand.
"We want to be insanely profitable in every business we enter," Rovio's Peter Vesterbacka said, according to CNET. "It's not a hobby. It's not like Apple TV or anything," he said, drawing laughter from the crowd.

More grilling... And some sashimi.
Just bought the same little bbq and binchotan at Marukai. I've always wanted to try binchotan. Do you mind sharing any suggestions and/or advice? Everything looked delicious in your pics!

The binchotan is rather hard to light... It would help to use some regular briquets and get them going, then add the binchotan.

I steam them on high for 15 minutes then 40 on medium.
Got my husband hooked on them too.
Thanks for the steaming time! I'm going to try steaming the artichokes instead of boiling them. I know you don't lose as much nutritive value. What's your dipping sauce?

The Clean Fifteen: Fruits And Vegetables With The Lowest Residual Pesticide Levels
The Environmental Working Group, in addition to putting out a list of produce to avoid, has also released a "Clean Fifteen" list of fruits and vegetables that are relatively unlikely to be contaminated by pesticides. The EWG found that 90% of the samples of the top three fruits and vegetables on the list contained no pesticides at all. And very few samples of any of the top 15 showed more than one kind of pesticide.
Many of these fruits and vegetables have protective coverings that protect the edible interior from pests naturally. The coverings also help keep any pesticides that are used off the part of the plant you eat.
Here's the full list of the most pesticide-free fruits and vegetables in non-organic form:
