I went with one of my best friends who is Mexican. He was skeptical of the claim best tacos, but even HE was duly IMPRESSED. I trust him in all things Mexican cuisine so considering the flavors won his praise, I definitely feel confident in recommending this shop to all others.
Nice. We have a pretty authentic Mex place near us. But nowadays we are so into gourmet home cuisine we dont get out much. _________________

A good home cooked meal is a satisfaction all its own. Truthfully Mexican cuisine isn't one my favorites but it is ubiquitous here in LA so there are many good examples of regional Mexican dishes. It's nice to change it up every once in a while but having some good Mexican.

^ Whoa, that's a good-sized steak.
Hehe. I don't eat much red meat at home, but when I do invariably it's a steak from Mitsuwa. I guess it's because they carry Prime grade beef and none of the markets in my neighborhood do because it's not affluent enough!
So even though prime is expensive most of the pieces of prime at Mitsuwa are usually 8 to 12 ounces so you can control the portion as well as the price!

Speaking of Mitsuwa today is the last day you can try the Sendai Miso Ramen from Sendai Takejiro which is visiting from Sendai, Japan for the very first time.
This has to be the mildest yet most flavorful miso ramen I've tasted in my life. For me when I think of mild I might conjure up the thought that there is a lack of flavor but not so in this case. The soup is still a tonkotsu with the addition of some fish into the stock. It was delicious.
The chashu excellent and tender as well. If you live in LA you can go get this today at the Torrance Mitsuwa!

Looks delicious!!
We did a cheaper cut of sirloins the other day but salted, stabbed and let them sit for awhile, then sliced thin for serving. SO they were still delicious. But I do prefer a higher grade like yours... _________________

Sounds yummy.
I only buy it one piece at a time so even though it's expensive, psychologically it doesn't seem that much. Because the portion sizes at the Japanese market tend to be much smaller than one might find at a Grade A butcher, one piece usually comes out to 10 to 12 bucks because it usually weighs around 10 ounces or so.

The miso ramen looked amazing.
10 bucks, friend. Good to the last drop. Although we have some good ramen shops here in LA with ramen boom we've had over the last few years, the ramen shops that visit during these Mitsuwa Market Japanese food fairs are superlative in their offerings.
This ramen did not disappoint. As I said above, even though it was a miso flavored ramen it was surprisingly mild and not overly salty which really took me by surprise.
This salt flavored ramen that I posted about a month ago, also from a Japanese ramen shop visiting during a Mitsuwa food fair was amazing, too.

There is NO decent ramen in our town.
I understand. Trust me if we didn't live in a big city on the Pacific Rim neither would we!
Opportunity permitting, next time you head to NYC you should grab a bowl. I know they got some credible and delicious ramen there, among a million other delicious things to eat!
