Taiwanese food is a category of Chinese food by the way - Chinese food has different regional style, such as the Sezchuan style which focuses on spicy food.

Here is my order:
#1 Chinese Food - the sheer variety of Chinese food is incredible, you will never get bored of it (just a note, American and European Chinese Food are just crappy beyond belief).
#2 Japanese Food - I like the light and clean taste, very soothing, I can eat Japanese food everyday and won't feel disgusted.
#3 Italian Food - sooo rich in flavor, and I am good at cooking Italian food, , learned it while living in Florence. My type of soul food.

#4 French Food - The "Chinese Food" of Europe
Thx for summarizing it up for me as well, that would be my list as well. But I also would have to insert #1.5 between CHN and JPN food with Okinawan food. Their native food is more CHN (but not quite chinese) than JPN, and healthier than JPN food as well, if that is possible.

What's so special about Okinawan food? Are there any dishes you can point out?
Actually, I believe that out of those listed, I'd say Italian food. I just love pasta and tomato-like dishes in general and since they are prominent in Italian food, there isn't anything that is under mediocre in my opinion. Chinese food comes close, though I like Japanese food a bit better, that ranks 2nd on my list.
The only reason why Chinese food is ranked 3rd is because some things and items are a bit on the oily side.

I agree totally. I <3 Italian food. Carbs and dairies at the same time...can't beat that. Pasta and cheese....yeeeeaaahh!! Fresh mozzarella with tomato and basil tossed in pasta...yum. I like just about any Italian dish except for fish dishes or pasta with gravy like Alfredo flavor. And unless the fish is shrimp, 75% of the time I won't touch it. Good thing I don't do lent. I'd probably die if I ever tried Atkins. I couldn't be Italian and do Atkins. Just seems so wrong
I like a good bit of Japanese food as long as (most) fish can be omitted. I'm not a huge fan of Chinese food. I have to be really in the mood for it and I'm picky about the dishes. Plus in the U.S. all we have is greasy Chinese food a big part of the time. I'd like to try authentic Chinese food though

Wow, I've never had Arabic food Although I'm up for ANY kind of dessert. I'll have to look up Arabic desserts and see what they got!

Yeah, there were some that I would've chose as well. But I guess the thread creator wanted to find out what people really liked, had they only to pick one.
