good info on the mercury-fish topic.
what about eel? was scanning thru it and didn't see anything about that..
unagi... |
I'm sure it must have mercury in it as well, but how much??
And I think unagi has quite a bit of cholesterol, too.

They don't accept those anymore.
Judging from the table (http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/%7Efrf/sea-mehg.html), maybe I should try the canned salmon... Wonder if it's because salmon is a freshwater fish and/or is raised in farms rather than open waters...

indeed they dont.. they have electronic cards now.. i can always have that guy double swipe it for me
salmon is cheaper than tuna here.. hence the frequent salmon sushi dinners at home.. i think i already mentioned that that's my quick dinner fix..
salmon from costco + nori + rice + kikkoman + wasabi

I'll share it with you! Only if you promise to bring me something other than mercury-laden tuna on wheat tomorrow!

as they say keep it light....that is the light tuna has less heavy metal than the solid albacore tuna...
real story, no bullshiet..one of my homegirl's used to go out with this guy and his father had a habit of eating sushi multiple times a week because he thought it was healthy and all..you know low fat source of high quality protein, fewer calories and all...the guy ended up getting heavy metal poisoning that negatively affected his nervous system and he has persistent nerve problems as a consequence..
i also remember watching this episode of 60 minutes where they interviewed this one woman who had all these f*cked up health problems and they tested her ass like crazy not knowing the cause of her problems....turned out she used to eat tuna salad sandwiches like almost everyday and the heavy metal poisioning f*cked her up and was the source her ill heath.

I'm not bringing lunch tomorrow: a couple of us guys are hitting a sushi bar for lunch... *dreams of unagi sushi*
I'd suggest Yuzu, but I don't think they'd buy into it. Besides, they might be full up.
