I can't believe that Nobuta won! As much as I LOVE Nobuta, but I think 1 Litre of Tears on the whole is so much better, and Erika Sawajiri should have won Best Actress.

WD, with you there. Watched all 'three' dorama in question, Ichi Litre no Namida and Sawajiri Erika are definitely more deserving winners, very disapppointing results =|

Makes you wonder if the judging panel are all teenagers too =P

I'd wonder too.... It's all made up of a bunch of giddy female teenagers..... rofl (But how are results come to end... are they really made by a panel of people? or is this done by a poll.. people can vote for who they want.....)

Gonna have to agree... I saw both 1 liter and NWP.... Gonna have to say... 1 liter was much better than NWP (yeah yeah... i know i'll be slapped by all NWP/Kame/Pi fans, but tough, and it has nothing to do with the fact I don't really like Kame.....(I mean i watched it right...)

Actually for best actor.. If you gave me a choice.. i would have choosen Nishikido Ryo.. His character had more emotions to use...

And yes... Erika chan would have probably made a better best actress... (But I do like Mao's Tsukushi, don't get me wrong)

But what can we say.. This is all a popularity contest right....NWP probably did much better rating wise than all the other shows

Oh well.. I won't complain anymore....

Congrats to all the winners.. and if you didn't win #1, you're all winners in the hearts of your fans...... w00t!

Yeah! argh! I LOVE Nobuta too but Ichi just blew me away. Its amazing minna. I simply can't believe its no.3 (beaten by HYD!!! argh!).
The panel must be a bunch of teenagers...isyk,isyk... Sweat
But I think I can accept Nobuta winning... I do love the whole friendship theme & all 3 main characters (including Kame's Shuji). Its really good & satisfiying but NOT great.
About Kame winning the Best LEAD Actor...well...Yamapi outshines him. I was hoping Yamapi to win something, but to win as the Lead Actor in Nobuta, I guess Akira isn't the Lead in the drama itself.

Mao Inoe winning the best actress argh!
I do like her & HYD but I don't like it beating Ichi (but matsujun winning best suppoting actor is great... the only award given i'm really satisfied with)
ERIKA SAWAJIRI is more deserving of the award (Beaten by the hords of HYD fans)

mmm...this award is judged by 3 panels right? The professional jury, journalist & fans (correct me if i'm wrong)
can anybody post the results according to each panel?

darn, i wanted Jin to win something...how did jun win supporting actor?..he was a lead character (unless he acted in another show other than HYD that I don't know of)...I actually wanted shun to win supporting actor...everything's a disappointment as a whole in my opinion..but i still congratulate the winners though...I mean, I'm sure that lots of people thought they deserved it too for it to have won.

sometimes the result is unexpected..
hehhehe

Like teru_teru_bouzu, each drama is a winner in the heart of its own fans...
Congrats to the nominees and the winners.......

Erika Sawajiri's character is more challenge....anyway she won my heart w00t!

yay!!! NWP won!!! wow!! kame, sugoi!! i soo love kame's portrayal of shuji. it's like he was born for the part. of course i loved akira too, but the thing is, shuji's character had more depth. (for me anyway...) akira was flamboyant, outrageous. whereas shuji was more subtle, but the personality conflicts and emotions ran deep. so anyway, i'm not bashing akira, coz i love them both. this was actually my favorite drama of the season. though i also liked ryo...

ooh.. and i would have liked it better if erika won.

anyway, congratulations everyone!!! hope to see more great doramas next season.

I too believe that Shuji was a character with many facets to him so is a bit more of a challenge for an actor to portray. I adore the Akira character too but he was a rather simple character to me.

I have my suspicions too that at least the popular votes are mostly by fangirls but I doubt it's as unfair as people make it seem. If everything was judged only by how good an actor looked on screen than Akanishi Jin would have won for his role in Anego for the 45th awards. It is my understanding that he didn't.

i thought these were determined by a panel of judges?

hm the first time i watched these dramas, i thought that ichi ritoru no namida would win all the awards for sure. but then thinking it over... there are so many really sad dramas that deal w/incurable diseases (dont shoot me, fans, im just thinking it over and maybe rationalizing)... and it was definitely predictable (though hana yori dango was too)... erika's performance as aya was touching and absolutely 100% believable, but then again i think inoue mao's was too... just in a completely different light. so i think it really depends, who knows what was in the minds of the judges? Crazy but when i rewatched the first four eps of nobuta yesterday, i realized just how great of a drama nobuta was... it was unpredictable, it was silly, it was funny, it was serious, it was dark... there were so many elements that made the drama all around GOOD... i couldnt believe when it won best drama on the jdorama05 awards because i thought that the general sentiment was that ichi would win but... now that i see it was reflected also in the minds of the official judges in japan... i hafta say, i cant complain... nobuta was a great show w00t!

I think there are three sets of judges. There's a jury, there are tv journalists and then TV mag readers (popular vote). But I could be wrong.

I can think of two...maybe three if I include Kyoko Fukuda's drama where she contracted AIDS. But there probably are a lot more.

Just some interesting observations i made from past year awards:

(1) Since the 34th awards , no TV stations had manage to win the best drama award twice in a row. This may explain why Fuji TV's 1 litre of tear didn't win this season award as it had just won last season best drama with Densha Otoko. I think this may be a bit lame but it may a strategy the panel is trying to keep all the TV stations happy.

(2)The last time an actor from NTV to win the best actor award is 26 seasons ago in 1999. It was won by Watabe Atsuro for his role in Labyrinth. This year is won by Kamenashi for his role in NTV's Nobuta wo Produce

(3) The last time an actress from TBS to win the best actress award is 20 seasons ago. It was won by Tomosaka Rie for her role in Kimi ga oshietekureta koto. This year the award is won by Inoue Mao for her role in TBS's Hana Yori Dango.

(4) It is Jun's second time to win best supporting actor. The last time is for his role in Gokusen.

Overall, I think the result is fair though 1 litre of tear should at least win something . Anyway congratulations to the winners and I hope there will be more great dramas in the coming seasons.

hmm...the awards was totally dominated by Nobuta and HYD...my own views...Best Dorama - Nobuta...I'm ok, with this as it was an entertaining drama...inspite of the super ghei ending...Best Actor -Kame...USO, I didn't think his acting was spectatular...I think the only expressions he had were sad and cool...and the occasional cracked 'Bye bye bicycle' line...Now, Pi...Pi is good! I would be happy if he won...acting a crazy character is not easy! Especially looking as his past roles, it was Pi's first time doing a cracked character and he did really well, and I didn't even like Pi before Nobuta...Anyway, it was under Inoe Mao's contract that she would be the only lead in HYD which is why Jun was not nominated for Best Actor...

i feel that Kame's perfromance in NWP wasnt really that well although the show was entertaining. I think that Yamapi acts better since it isnt really easy to act crazy like was dreamraine said. I think yamapi shld get that award. and by the way why do the lead actress in NWP and Jun got the best supporing actor and actress when they are the lead in the respective show?

i think shuji's character was more "main" character (tho i LOVED akira, dont get me wrong), and that he had so many more faces to him... different sides of his personality that he had to show.. i thought that he did a good job. Thumbsup i do wish that yamapi had won something tho, and i do wish that ichi had won something as well...

anyway as for hana yori dango, i believe that inoue mao's company bought the rights to the show and thats why they put her name in for lead actress, and juns in for supporting actor... even tho they technically were both leads in the show...
