yeah, guess people of all races and all over are learning Japanese and intrigued by their culture. I am one of them, and but i am asian.

thought of taking a short-term class in Japanese, but decided not to right now. trying to learn on my own from books on Japanese for now.

It may be just me, but the above message that I commented "?" to was very difficult to read (i.e., I couldn't understand your English), so that's why I said that.
Now, I'm not saying your English is horrible, but I think that it would be difficult to convey your message (or advert) to the reader unless you are going to either write it in English that is easier to understand, or write it in your native language.

We understand that however, please post messages that have substance.
Don't post just to practice English or whatever it is you maybe doing (thinking aloud, was it?). That's what ("old fashioned") handwritten, composition book journals are for. Write your thoughts and practice in there.

well sorry about writing substanceless. i tried numerous times writing to ?japanese? people. at an irish penpal site, a few(15 in number) girls wrote to me...once i wrote this "a few rats are neccessary". she has not replied again, even if i was in hope she likes rats, spiders, halloween and harry potter.

now i do not try anymore at these japanese penpal sites. i think its just not the right thing for me. i wrote short sentence, nothing unusual like above. no reply. well i do not have feelings of little worth. so either i make something wrong, or its the wrong people. guess they are not representative. my assumption is that in the country, (different) social groups do not/can not freely interchange. means, they even can not reply to me.
