not really sure how to but i wouldnt do that. I heard there would be a significant quality loss if wma is converted to mp3

VirtualDub can append 2 videos. But they must be of identical format and bitrate. Your own music/song will have to be in WAV format (most programs can convert MP3 to WAV, even players like WinAMP)

Try http://www.vcdhelp.com
There should be a link in that site to download VirtualDub.

Sorry I don't use PowerDVD, not sure where to change the audio. But since its VCD, its probably a left-right channel separation. Just open your volume controls, and adjust your balance either all the way to the right or to the left, depending on the language u desire.

I recently got the Yamato Nadeshiko DVD set, really excellent. Each of the DVDs has some 'bonus' features which probably amount to about 30min. They include interviews of cast and various behind the scenes things. I guess some people would like to see some of these, but I haven't got the first clue about how I could capture this stuff and upload it to a website. Can someone go though how you go about doing this? I'm currently looking to buy a new PC so probably I could get a video card or whatever would allow me to do it.

Thanks,
Andy

For the ripping and converting part, http://www.dvdrhelp.com/ will probably have all the info you need.

Thanks for the links. Wow, I never knew how little I knew about DVDs 'til I saw those sites! Very helpful in deciding what hardware to get in my new PC as well as understanding how (easy it is) to go from DVD to 'backup'...

Thanks,
Andy

Hi Im new to this forum and after scanning through a few posts i realise alot of people dont know how to play media files they downloaded (e.g from bittorrent)

hope im helping.

U need special codec to play these media files. There are many different codecs out there and u need a combination of them.
I have tried over 3 years many different codec packs and this is the best i've ever come across.

DivX total pack

Instructions (pls follow order)
1. Upgrade to windows media player 9
2. Uninstall ALL previous codecs, reboot your computer and install the above file
3. Set windows media player to "automatically download codecs"
Tools > Options > Player "tab" >

Thats it. you can now play all these files with windows media player. Pls dont flame if it doesnt work for u.
