I think Koyuki and Kimutaku don't have the chemistry between them like in the previous Pride. But I agree with Kirari that he has more chemistry with the kids then with his co-star.
I am thinking that this dorama is a platform to showcase the new Johnny's boys as well as to maintain the Kimutaku's popularity.

Hmm, I read that this show is not that well received saying that it focuses to much on the kids rather that the engine - racing part. It only got a ranking of 9 on the Oricon chart of the 'most satisfied dorama of Spring' BUT ranked 2nd on the 'most awaited dorama' cat. Anyway, i'm loving it. Big Grin

Yeah I have to agree that "Engine" although good, isn't one of my favorites. The interaction between Kimura Takuya and the kids is really cute and fun to watch. The pace of the story, however, is rather slow and is going through that "kid of the week" thing.

Anyway, it's too bad that there won't be some kind of romance between KimuTaku and Koyuki. I was kind of looking forward to that. It's funny how I anticipated watching this drama for so long and now instead of looking forward to watch the episodes for this drama, I'm looking forward to more "Tiger & Dragon". I love that series! Check it out if you haven't already started watching it. Sayapapaya and sarcasstik have made subs for Eps 1-3.

I like this drama..:-)
such a cute one to watch..
I know that it's not very exciting or super fun or anything like that,
but still, it's joyous and heartwarming.
I didn't really like it for the first three episodes,
but I'm liking it more and more as the drama proceeds.

Anyway, I love it..:-)
I think Koyuki doesn't go well with Takuya though..

I'm getting bored of the show. The "kid (character) of the week" idea is so old.

For me I'm excited to watch Lap 6. I like the treatment of the show. With its ratings still ahead of the pack this season I guess, there are more people who like it than not. Victory! Peace!

I saw the previews for Lap 7 and the cliffhanger from Lap 6. I can't wait to see it! I've been wanting to know about this kid ever since the first episode. hehe

Damn it, Arnel98!

Your signature file and avatar of Anzu Sayuri are melting down my monitor! Lovey Eyes Bonk

It's funny how doramas often have a theme for retitling their episodes. Like in Pride, they called each episode a "period" like in hockey. In Engine, they call them laps, akin to racing.

Was better - but I wasn't really paying attention Doh! - the plot is thickening (FINALLY!!)!!! Dancing . Saw the trailer for Lap 8, looks exciting.

Can't wait for the Chinese subs for Lap 7. Then I can fully understand what was going on.
