Well, it looks like the bookstore is the place to go. I don't think the DVDs I'm looking for would show up this soon at Book Off.... speaking of which, why don't we have this store up in NorCal. SoCal gets all the Japan love.
FUGGG...i didn't even know we had a Book Off here in Los Skandolous....if you really want I can make a trip for you....but I imagine you'll be getting your goodies in Japan.

SF Nihonmachi is much nicer that Little Tokyo.
There's a big Kinokuniya in SF, Doch'. Think there's one in SJ too, off Saratoga.

But we don't have a Book Off. No way to buy used books, mags, and DVDs. I think the SF Kino has more stuff than the SJ one. For instance, photobooks are missing from SJ.
Dochira, you mentioned you were looking for particular stores to find Rina merchandise and the like (i.e. DVDs, photobooks, magazines, posters, etc..)
this was the best advice I was given in that regard:
"Most bookshops will have what your friend is looking for. In Tokyo, one of the largest stores is Kinokuniya in the Takashimaya Times Square annex near the south exit of Shinjuku station. Other large stores are Maruzen, a few minutes walk from the Marunouchi North exit of Tokyo station, and Book 1st, across the road from Tokyu Bunkamura in Shibuya.
For cheaper copies, your friend might want to look out for a chain of secondhand bookshops called Book Off. They have hundreds of stores nationwide and most of their merchandise is as good as new."
personally, i've been to both the old Kinokuniya and newer one, both of which are in Shinjuku, about 6 floors-stories tall......my next visit, i'll be sure to re-visit Kinokuniya.
The Kino near my place in Costa Mesa doesn't really have any selection of photobooks, nor does the other Kino's in CA.....well not much of a selection. Even Bookoff in Costa Mesa has a much larger but older pb's.

Even little book stores by local town train stations usually carry a wide selection of PB's. Not everything. But most of the top idols and even the R-rated versions.

i went to another bookstore, besides Kinokuniya in Shinjuku....
i think it was called BookFirst, in one of the cities, within Tokyo area...it wasn't too big, but they had a big selection of PB's...
and yea, one of the trainstations, had a bookstore in there, and they had a small selection, and i remember seeing Misako Yasuda's newest pb, 3000 yen, of course i bought one.

All long time ago I bought a picture book of girls in high-school uniforms. It's a pretty nice book with many pages and pictures. Sometimes we play, "Which uniform do you like best?"

Maybe the H!P shops have t-shirts. Can't find any on-line at all.
The PB mentioned above had no idols in it. Just regular high-school girls. The book is designed to aid students and parents in selecting a high-school. You know, based on which uniform and swimsuit looked the coolest.
When first learning of this, I said something like, "That's retarded. What a dumb way to pick a high-school." All the girls around turned and said that's exactly how they picked their highschool.
