In exactly 100 days I will be in Tokyo for 4 weeks. I signed in for a japanese language summer course in Tokyo, while staying with a Japanese homestay family. No doubt it will be one hell of an experience..

Good luck! The first days are the toughest for some people, but if it's well organized, you could have the best time of your life. Enjoy it. Thumbsup

Ooo, that sounds like a lot of fun! Big Grin

May I ask where you found this offer? I've only found some in Fukuoka.

Wow japan sounds really neat. I wish my parents would put up some money for me to study summer school in japan. I probably have to work next year. I really would hate my parents if they made me move to Alaska. I was wondering if they have a tour of celeb houses. I might have to go stalk a few of their kawaii stars. :p. Maybe a few autographs and souvenir.

Great! w00t!

It looks huge. The tree tops are barely making it to her feet. I thought it'd be 6 feet tall at best or someone holding a key chain near the camera lens. hehe

In Odaiba, next to the AquaCity and near the Rainbow Bridge (which you see in the first photo) and the Fuji-tv studios.

... or you could do like PB and go study there. There are a lot of programs, some of them allow you to work part time too. Smile

Intresting. I live in the U.S. California more specifically. We had a over seas program but it was for japanese students only this year. That was a bit saddening. But i wish i could have been a host family. Just my parents wouldn't let me Bleah. Ohh also what did you do to go there for study?

Too bad about your parents. Sweat

I didn't go. Shameful Cry I wish I had chosen to go study there, at least for a small period, instead of wasting my time in college here. hehe If I could go back in time, I'd do it in an instant. At that time, I really wanted to go there, but thought the language was too difficult, you needed a University diploma to have a visa and didn't know about exchange programs. I'm such an idiot. Ehh. Well for me i feel that if i don't go to japan before i graduate i probably will regret it Bleah. Sometimes people have to make choices. I'll probably wait for our youth program next year. I think it's our turn to go . I hope Japanese 2 learners can go because i'm gonna be the best student in there.

Funny, I was actually only allowed to go to Japan because im staying with a homestay family (I will turn 18 while being in Japan). So participating with this summer program was my only choise, I was actually first planning to stay in Japan for 2 weeks and do some travelling between cities. But I really like the homestay and Tokyo is also a place I always had high regards of..

I would like to study atleast 1 year Japanese in Japan after I get my bachelor degree in college (in 3 years probably). There is a pretty interesting school called Yamasa (http://www.yamasa.org/index.html) situated in a small (Japanese standards) city near Nagoya (Okazaki). Maybe I will apply at that school, cause they belong more or less to the top schools in Japan for japanese language studying. Or I may apply for a long term stay (1 year) with langubridge in Tokyo. Depends on my trip this summer..

But i also really want to go to Japan. Decisions decisions. T.T.
