in some ways, it seems that way, but i fortunately didn't get the pack in feeling when i was on trains...
i think Shibuya/Shinjuku stations are always packed, but even more so during the peak hours of 8am-9am, and 5pm-6pm hours, but all hours of the day, i remember seeing OL's, Salary men, school girls and boys walking around...i kept thinking, don't they have work/school to go to?

Wow, how is the train service soooo efficient and on time when these things happen X_X... I mean wow I complain when the New York Metro trains here get packed and I decide I will just wait for the next one but wooow thats insanely packed, there going to be like lack of oxygen inside of those carts...
Note: the guys who recorded the videos were so messed up laughing hahah
fortunately i've always missed rush hour when i'm in japan but i never can understand why people run for the train when the next one's only minutes away. _________________

first time i was in japan, i was truly amazed on how on-time every train was, they're punctuality was truly the best!

i've been in japan twice...but only in the airport because japan was our stop over that time when we went to the states. but then i was amazed at how beautiful their airport is. the only stuff i bought there were two Evians and a bottle of grape juice. they cost 200 yen. and i also remember that i checked my e-mail there and the net surfing costs 100 yen for about 10 minutes. i had fun even though i was only in the airport waiting for the plane to get ready for our next flight.

i once read in the paper that the london underground was proud because 85% of trains ran to within 10 or 15 minutes schedule.
the same article said that in tokyo 99% of trains ran to within 1minute of schedule. _________________

not sure what the avg time is worldwide for trains...that is near on schedule, but Japan's amazing punctuality is second to none!....miss one train, wait a min, and there you go, hop on the very next one.
This is what i want to see in Kyoto....i'll be sure to take lot of photos
Fushimi-inari-taisha, as you recall, it was in the movie "Memoirs of a Geisha"
Hmm, then you'll probably bump into Qilver: he's heading out there about the same time...
in 2 weeks, i'll probably be at the end of my trip heading back soon.
I'm getting the 7-day JRrail pass....
good for the shinkansen trains, and regular JR-trains in Japan, however, rail pass is only good for the Hikari trains, and not the Nozomi trains.

actually the JR-pass does include the Shinkansen train, just only the Hikari Shinkansen line, within that 7, 14, or 21 day period. I got the 7 day pass.
